Back to Love: A New Beginning -
Chapter 166
Chapter 166:.
Aaron got out of bed and went outside. He shook his head a couple of times, probably in an attempt to shake off the dizziness.
“I’m going to take a shower,” he said.
When the door closed again, I turned around to replace Derek staring at me, propped up with one of his arms holding his head. Honestly, I was a little angry at what had happened.
“Can’t you be more responsible, how could you make such a mistake, do you often sleep in the wrong room with the wrong person?”
With a smile on his face, Derek pulled me back to sleep with him. Then he turned around and glared at me.
“You are always unable to keep from moving around at night in your sleep.
Tell me, did you touch anything last night?”.
To be honest, I really didn’t know who I had hugged last night when I was groggy from sleep.
“How would I know what I did after I fell asleep? In any case, you don’t know what you did since you were drunk!”
Derek’s face darkened and he wrapped his arms tighter around my waist. “Is being asleep the same as being drunk? Tell me the truth, did you practice driving in your sleep last night?”
Since he mentioned about practicing driving in my dreams, I was mortified. But then again, he had asked it to me in such a serious way that I also found it quite funny.
“Ha, ha…” His face darkened at my laughter and he kissed me to stop me laughing. I had no idea how much they had drunk last night. There was still the smell of alcohol emanating from him even though it had been a whole night.
We kissed and made love in bed for quite a while. The comforter had been messy at first, but now it was completely tangled.
To my surprise, this incident did not affect the three of us. Everything went on as before, as if nothing had happened. In fact, nothing had happened.
I prepared breakfast downstairs while the two of them changed clothes before joining me.
Aaron told us he had a meeting that morning and left without eating a bite of breakfast.
Derek came downstairs with a suitcase and informed me that he would be going on a business trip for the next few days. He always did things on the spur of the moment, without telling me in advance.

He noticed I was being quiet, so he came over to me and pinched my cheek. “Why are you putting on such a show? You don’t want me to go on a business trip, do you?”.
I shook off her hand, walked over to the table and said, “Go away. I think I can be alone for a few days. In fact, it’s good for me.”
Before I sat down, he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind.
His magnetic voice entered my ears and I could feel his warm breath gently tickling my skin.
“You have to miss me, do you hear me?”
I would never admit it, but truth be told, at that moment I felt ecstatic. I pushed his hand away from my waist and gave him a serious look again.
“Do you often have to attend parties during business trips? Do you often go to the wrong room and sleep with the wrong person after you get drunk?”
Derek gave me a playful smile. “Does that bother you?”
I cleared my throat and pulled back a chair to take a seat.
“You just did that last night. Even though you took Aaron to the wrong room, it’s the same as if you made a mistake yourself. If you’ve done something like that before, I wouldn’t be surprised if you did it again,” I said.
He sat down across from me and looked at me with a smile.
“Since you’re so worried about me, why don’t you come with me.”
I took a sip of milk, set the glass down and replied brashly, “It’s not that I’m worried. I’m just reminding you not to ruin your image and reputation in public.”
Derek suddenly put down his fork and saluted me, “Yes, ma’am!”. I couldn’t help but let out a laugh. He too smiled with glee.
I thought that this kind of life was probably exactly what I had always wanted. We laughed and joked as we finished our breakfast together. It seemed like a simple thing to do, but if something so simple could be done every day for a lifetime, it was also extraordinarily romantic. Our current life was so wonderful that I didn’t want to let my mind wander to the problems we would realistically have to face.
For example, his father was unwilling to accept me and I couldn’t get pregnant easily either. Even if I had to face these problems someday, I still believed that dealing with them was a long way off.
The second day after Derek left on a business trip, I was reading at home. He called me and told me that he had left his desk key at home. He asked me to take the key to the office and deliver a specific document to his assistant. They urgently needed the document.
After hanging up the call, I returned to our room and found the key on the bedside table. I took a cab to Dere International.
As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, the attendant approached me. It was obvious that he had been waiting for me for quite some time.
I went into Derek’s office, sat down at his desk and opened the drawer with the key.
The document he was talking about was placed in a very visible place. However, when I pulled it out, a book just below it caught my eye.
As soon as I picked up the book, I was overcome with mixed emotions. The subject of the book was parenting. When I opened the book, I found a bookmark. There were many bookmarks on that page. I must have read this book when I had free time in the office. I must have had a deep desire to have a child.
So, when he saw my examination report, I thought he was very disappointed. But he did not show his disappointment. He always preferred to hide his emotions.
There was a gentle knock at the door. The assistant stood in the doorway and asked me politely but anxiously, “Have you found the document?”
When I came to my senses, I put the book back in its original place, closed the drawer again and handed the document to the assistant.
On the way home, I kept thinking that perhaps I could not resign myself to my fate. In this modern era, medicine had advanced so much. There must still be a way to help me get pregnant.
