Chapter 248:.

“There is no problem with my body. It’s in good condition, trust me. You can even try it if you want,” Derek joked. Once again, I kept silent.

Whatever the topic was, I could always drag him back to sex. I was really surprised how he could do it.

Suddenly, we heard a knock at the door.

“Derek, Eveline, I’ve made sweet white mushroom soup. Come have some,” Becky said from outside the door. I figured the soup was just an excuse to annoy us. Derek was about to get off me and open the door.

And in a moment of desperation, I threw my arms around his neck and started kissing him.

“Derek, are you asleep?” Becky kept banging on the door.

I continued to kiss him passionately, leaving him no chance to speak.

He couldn’t stand the temptation of my kiss any longer, so he started kissing me back as hard as he could.

Then, we rolled all over the bed as our bodies got hotter.

Becky seemed very insistent on teasing us. Seeing that no one was responding to her, she began to play with more intensity. It was as if she wasn’t going to stop until someone gave her an answer.

It was actually very annoying because things were getting hot between Derek and me.

“No, thanks. You can go to bed early,” he stated.

The sound of his voice was hoarse, because he was holding back his moans. Finally, the knocking on the door stopped.

“I see. I’ll put the soup in the fridge, so you can still eat in the morning” I could sense how defeated Becky must have felt by his voice. Outside the door, the sound of her footsteps grew farther and farther away.

Three days later, Becky left the house.

Filming would officially begin a month later. Derek helped her work out a deal with an art school, so she could study before joining the film crew.

The school was not in Sousen, so she had to stay at the school. Of course, Derek had already arranged everything for her. He even asked Timmy to drive her there.

I escorted her out of the village and reminded her of the things she needed to be careful about, like a sister would do with a younger brother.

Honestly, I was disgusted by my own hypocrisy. All I could think was that I could finally have some peace of mind now that she was leaving. I thought it wouldn’t be so bad to act with her one last time.

Naturally, Becky was not an easy person to get along with. She pretended to be nice to me, but when Derek didn’t notice, she would provoke me.

“I’ll be back for Derek,” she said.

Hearing that, I was in a very bad mood.

Once Becky left, I cleaned up the villa and removed all traces that she had lived here. Everything went back to the way it was, and it was as if she had never come here. The only thing I couldn’t get back was my beloved cat, Ugly.

As I remembered the poor thing, hatred resurfaced in my heart. However, I knew that hatred wouldn’t change anything. By the time I finished cleaning, I was so exhausted that I collapsed on the couch.

Suddenly, my phone started ringing. It was a call from Tina. She wouldn’t call me if there was nothing wrong, so I thought of Lily right away and answered, “Tina, what’s wrong?”

“Eveline, Lean’s case will take place this afternoon. I was hoping to take Lily to see him, but I’m a little freaked out. Do you mind coming with me?” she pleaded.

I wondered why Derek hadn’t mentioned the fact that Lean’s case was going to be opened.

After hanging up the call, I decided to call Derek, but his phone seemed to be off. Normally, his phone was on twenty-four hours a day, and he even had a portable charger. It was strange that it was off. Derek had invested a lot of time and resources in Lean’s case. There was no reason for him not to attend the guy’s trial. Maybe he had already gone there.

So I didn’t delay any longer, changed my clothes and went out. Today, the temperature dropped several degrees. I put on a black and white plaid coat.

As soon as I stepped outside, the cold wind snuck into my skin. Despite the number of layers of clothes I was wearing, I felt so cold that I was shivering slightly.

I soon hailed a cab to Tina’s house. She had already packed and was ready to leave as soon as I arrived.

She was carrying Lily in her arms, while I helped her carry the baby’s supplies. It wouldn’t be easy to take a baby out. Wherever Tina went, she would have to carry a large bag. In the bag was a bottle, powdered milk, diapers and a change of clothes.

These were necessities that I couldn’t leave behind. Inside the cab, I decided to call Derek again, but his phone was still off.

“What do you think I should do? I’m really nervous about this, Eveline.” From her reaction, I could tell Tina was really nervous. I held her hand, trying to comfort her.

“Try not to be too nervous, okay? Lily is your daughter. I’m sure she’ll like her. And as for Lean’s case, a lot of capable people are working hard to get him off, and the chances of him winning the case are high.”
