Back to Love: A New Beginning -
Chapter 251
Chapter 251:
This time, Alvaro didn’t stop me. Instead, he followed me.
I quickened my pace to keep my distance from him, but to no avail. He caught me easily because he had longer legs.
Tina was waiting for me outside. As I approached her, Alvaro also arrived.
He reached into his coat pocket, pulled out his keys and the car beeped as its lights flashed twice. “Get in the car. I’ll take you home,” he said.
I stopped Tina from getting into the car.
Who knew what she could do?
Alvaro was already in the driver’s seat. With the window down, I saw him watching us patiently.
“What are you waiting for?”
“We’re getting a cab. You don’t have to drive us,” I replied firmly.
“Really?” he said with a smile.
“Well, Eveline, Alvaro is offering out of kindness, why don’t we take his car?” whispered Tina.
I looked at her in disbelief. She opened the car door and said quietly to me, “Ok. Let’s go.”
I didn’t understand Tina. I wanted to stop her, but she was already in the car. I was worried that she and her daughter would be left alone with Alvaro. The only thing I could do was to ensure their safety. Finally, I decided to join them.
The car did not look cheap. However, I felt like I was sitting on a pin. Alvaro accelerated as he drove brazenly down the road. It looked like he had his license back,
Arriving at the gate of Tina’s community, Alvaro pulled out his wallet, took out a handful of money and handed it to her. He didn’t even bother to count.
Tina waved her hand and refused. Regardless, Alvaro gave it to his son. “Take it as a gift for the baby.”
Tina relented, took the money, and said, “Thank you, Alvaro.”
I didn’t understand him, what kind of person was he? In fact, he didn’t seem so bad. I was too deep in thought that I only came to when I heard Tina close the door and say goodbye.
“Wait, I’ll walk you upstairs.” I hurried to open the door and climbed down.

“No, thank you,” Tina insisted.
“Don’t be stubborn. You have to carry the baby and your things. There’s no elevator. I’m not going to let you go up there alone. I’ll take you back.” I took the bag from her hand and tugged on it.
Luckily, she didn’t turn me down. Lily had fallen asleep in the car and hadn’t woken up yet. We went back to Tina’s house. After she put her daughter to bed, I asked her directly, “Tina, how do you know Alvaro?”
Tina poured me a glass of water before we sat down on the couch.
“Lean was good friends with the Barton brothers, and I was always following Lean around back then, so I knew them.”
“What kind of person is he?” she had to know.
After a moment’s thought, Tina said, “He can be a little fierce at times. But he’s loyal to his friends, so Lean respected him a lot.”
At the time, Lean still didn’t have a driver’s license, but he wanted to drive so badly that he asked Alvaro to teach him privately.
Later, Lean drove Alvaro’s car and had an accident. You know how serious the consequences of driving without a license can be.
That day, Alvaro was also in the car, drunk.
When the traffic police arrived, Alvaro took the blame and claimed that he was the one behind the wheel. The fact that he was drunk strengthened the case against him and led to his driving license being withdrawn immediately.”
So that’s what happened.
Hearing what Alvaro did, coupled with his gesture towards Tina and Lily, I assumed he had a good relationship with Lean. I was further confused when I remembered that he had said he held a grudge against the Sullivan Family. Was his friendship with Lean sincere?
