Chapter 287:

I was totally flabbergasted.

Louise smiled though, “Thank you for your kindness. I’m fine now. You are my father, and of course, you are qualified to stay and attend our wedding. However, whether you attend or not, the wedding will go ahead as planned. I don’t care if I don’t have your blessing, not in the least.”

Colin’s chest heaved violently. “Lulu, won’t you obediently listen to me?”

From where he stood next to Louise, he could hear her breathing getting faster and faster. He could even see that her hands had begun to shake.

“Fuck you!” Louise roared with all the force she could muster.

I was completely stunned, as was Colin. After an excessively long pause, he finally came to his senses and recovered from the initial shock. He turned and left.

He wore an intensely pained expression. He thought that, however disrespectful Louise had been to him in the past, she had never shouted and swore at him blatantly.

When Colin left, Louise slumped in the chair. She just sat there, panting. I squatted down next to her to check on her. I noticed that tears had welled up in her eyes.

Knowing the truth, I felt terrible for her. I pulled out a tissue to dry her tears and coaxed her to feel a little better.

“Lulu, don’t cry, otherwise your makeup will be ruined,” I told her.

Louise raised her head and tried to hold back the tears that threatened to run freely down her cheeks.

“Crying is a woman’s right, but I’m not going to cry,” she said. Even though she said that, I knew she wasn’t feeling well at all. After a while, the makeup artist came in to fix her makeup.

I stood by the window. I looked down and saw Colin coming out of the hotel. He headed straight for a car that was parked at the curb. At that moment, he rolled down the passenger side window. I was surprised at what I saw.

Was Linda the person sitting in the passenger seat?

Colin sat in the driver’s seat and sped off.

Hadn’t Linda already been kicked out of Colin’s house? In any case, Linda had already slept with Felix-how was Colin going to accept her after that?

I remembered what Louise had said to her father a moment ago and was terrified to my core.

I put on the bridesmaid’s dress Louise had prepared for me and also had the make-up artist do my make-up.

When almost all the guests had arrived, Layne came in to get Louise. I went downstairs with them. Louise, who a few moments ago was very angry, calmed down. She even smiled gently at Layne when he came to get her.

There were not many guests, and most of them were Layne’s friends.

The wedding ceremony began. Louise walked arm in arm with Layne down the red carpet toward the stage. All of Layne’s friends were lively and animated.

The entire wedding proceedings were accompanied by applause and cheers, making it quite a lively affair. Just as Layne and Louise were exchanging rings, Felix appeared like lightning out of nowhere and ran onto the stage without a word.

However, he was stopped by Layne’s men stopped him before he could locate the stage.

Soon a fight broke out between Layne’s men and Felix. But he was no match for so many of them alone. He took blow after blow.

“Let him go!” Louise suddenly shouted.

The men immediately stopped and took a look at Layne. They didn’t take a step back until Layne gave them a specific look that told them to do so.

With blood at the corner of his lips, Felix rushed to the stage and grabbed Louise’s hand pleadingly.

“It’s been a long time, are you really still mad at me? You may be very angry with me, but why did you make such an impulsive decision? You have forgotten that you promised to marry me. I beg you, please don’t marry him.” Felix said, almost humbly pleading with her.

As her hand was still gripped, she answered him. “I’m not angry.”

Suddenly, Felix’s eyes lit up with joy. “Then come with me. I’ll listen to you from now on. I’ll do everything you say, OK?”

“Drop it!” growled Layne in threat.

Of course, Felix wouldn’t let her go, but if things continued like this, the situation would soon be out of control.

I reached over and tried to persuade Felix to stop his dramatics.

“Felix, calm down. We’ll talk about this later,” I said.

“If I wait until later, she’ll already be someone else’s wife,” Felix suddenly shouted.

“I’ll go with you,” Louise said out of the blue.

But the next moment, Layne had taken her by the other hand.

Louise said to Layne: “Wait for me here. I’m going to talk to him. Don’t worry. I’ll come back and finish our wedding.”

She looked serious. Layne hesitated for a few seconds and finally loosened his grip with confidence.
