Back to Love: A New Beginning -
Chapter 310
Chapter 310:.
The next morning, Aaron came in to put me on an IV drip.
Since Derek’s hand was injured, Aaron prepared food. When I was resting at home, Lavinia called me and asked when I would come to see her to start learning her skills.
I didn’t want to tell her I was injured, so I told her I was busy for the next few days and promised to visit her when I was free.
Tina came with Charlene to see me.
Tina sat on the edge of the bed, holding Lily in her arms. After a moment’s hesitation, she looked up at me and asked, “Eveline, is Lean the reason for your accident?” Lean was indirectly the reason for my accident.
I saw how heartless Belinda and Lean were when Tina knelt before them, pleading for Lily to be returned to her. Even though Lean was Lily’s father, I didn’t want Tina to have any relationship with him or his family.
I shook my head. “Of course I didn’t. I’m a terrible driver.”
Charlene was standing by the window. “Lean’s a jerk!” she growled in annoyance.
“Tina, don’t get mad. I don’t care that Lean and my mother won’t accept Lily. She’s my niece.” Tina’s shoulders slumped dejectedly.
I thought for a while and asked, “Tina, have you ever thought about dating someone else? It’s time to move on. Lily can’t grow up without a father.”
Tina bit her trembling lip. After a long moment, she said, “Even though it’s hard to take care of Lily by myself, I’m not going to give up on her. No matter how hard it is, I will raise her on my own.”
Perhaps being a mother had made her strong. I was amazed to see the eighteen-year-old’s perseverance and courage to raise a child by herself.
Most of the time I was home alone. Whenever I got bored, I wanted to call Louise. I almost dialed her number, but hesitated to call. After all, she had just gotten married and I didn’t want to bother her.
A week later, I was almost recovered and the bandages were removed from my head.
One day, Derek called his friends at home. Since Aaron was still responsible for cooking, he was busy in the kitchen.
I sat on the couch watching TV. His friends were playing cards at the coffee table, including Felix. But he gave the impression of being bored and serious, as if he had suddenly matured.

The stark contrast in his character surprised me. It was eight o’clock in the evening when we finished eating.
I continued watching TV and Derek joined in their game. Aaron wasn’t interested in playing cards, so he watched TV with me.
He was watching a romantic series. It was surprising to see Aaron watching it with rapt attention.
After dinner, Felix no longer played with them. He just sat in a corner, smoking while absently watching the TV; I knew he was still upset about Louise. She wanted to replace an opportunity to persuade him, but she couldn’t say a word when everyone was around.
During the commercial break, my phone rang. It was a call from Louise.
As soon as I answered the phone, I heard Louise cry out in pain.
“Eve, help!”
“Lulu, what happened?” I asked nervously.
Felix turned to give me a look. His eyebrows furrowed, concern and care evident in his eyes.
Derek also stopped playing and gave me a look.
The clamorous house was suddenly silent.
I hung up the phone and jumped to my feet.
“Hurry up! Hurry up!” urged Derek as I pointed to the door.
He threw the cards on the table and quickly got up to grab his coat. The others also understood what he meant and cleaned up the mess. After Derek and I got into the car, I saw Felix following us out.
