Back to Love: A New Beginning -
Chapter 33
Chapter 33:.
I tried to pinch Louise’s waist, and she dodged it while laughing at me.
I couldn’t help but give a glance at Derek. He was wearing white sportswear, with one foot on the pedal of his mountain bike. His whole image looked sunny to me.
Then, he tilted his head, looking at me with a slight smile.
Every detail of his face made him extremely attractive, and his smile made him even more handsome.
A while later, I finally realized that the celebratory activity Louise had mentioned earlier was bike riding.
Upon discovering the truth, I embarrassedly whispered, “I don’t know how to ride a bike.”
“That’s okay! Derek can give you a ride. He put a back seat on his bike today. Naturally, it’s better to sit in the front, so you can ride the bike and him at the same time,” Felix commented with a chuckle.
“Shut up, Felix!” Before I could figure out what he meant, Derek had already put a curse on him.
Felix’s bike also had a back seat, so he asked Louise to ride with him.
However, she said she wanted to rent a bike and ride alone. Unfortunately for her, all the bikes at the Club were rented, perhaps because of the nice weather today.
“Come on, beautiful! Ride with me. It’s fate,” Felix said.
A playful smile appeared on his face. His words were obviously a double entendre.
So, Louise had no choice but to ride her bike.
I sat behind Derek, my hands gripping the frame under my buttocks. To steady myself on the seat, I had to make sure I was sitting properly.
“Are you okay back there?” asked Derek.
After nodding, I realized he couldn’t see me, so I said, “Yeah, all right.”
Before he finished the sentence, the bike hurtled forward. Due to inertia, my body leaned back, causing me to instinctively grab onto his waist.

A second later, I thought I heard Derek chuckle.
The summer clothes were very thin, so I could feel his prominent abdominal muscles.
The heat on my face had not yet faded, but I dared not let go of his waist.
At first, he was riding smoothly, but once we got out of downtown and up the hill, he slowed down.
Sitting on his bike, I felt very uncomfortable. At that moment, I wished I was as light as a butterfly.
“Am I heavy? If you want I can get off and walk a little.” I asked her.
“That’s okay. Someone as petite as you is no big deal to me,” Derek replied, as if consoling me.
“Hurry up, silly! You’re like a snail, do you even know how to ride properly? Just give Derek a look,” Louise commented.
I turned around and saw that Felix was lagging behind, and riding with great difficulty. But after hearing her comment, he couldn’t help but respond, “That’s easier said than done! I’m going this slow because you’re going with me. If you can do it, go ahead.”
“Sure, I’ll do it.” Without hesitation, Louise jumped off and yanked Felix off the bike.
Felix was simply joking. He had no idea she would take him seriously.
A moment later, Louise sat gracefully on the bike and walked away.
“Hey, wait up! I haven’t gotten on yet,” Felix shouted.
After trudging a decent distance, Louise turned the bike around and looked at Felix. “Walk as slowly as you want, snail! Take your time.”
Suddenly, the look on her face was so funny that I laughed out loud.
Clearly, Felix was humiliated. He gritted his teeth, pointing to Louise’s back.
“I’m not a snail. Wait and see.” Having declared that, he ran after her.
Seeing that she was about to catch him, Louise rode even faster. Because she was a Taekwondo practitioner, her legs were strong. For her, riding a bicycle was child’s play.
In order to catch up with her Felix gave his best effort, but still could not catch her. In the end, he was so exhausted that he stood in the middle of the road with his hands on his knees, panting.
“So, are you ready to admit you’re a snail?” Louise laughed at his misery.
As Derek and I walked past him, I gave him a sympathetic look. “Take your time, Felix.
No need to get agitated.”
I had no intention of insulting him or making fun of him. All I wanted was to offer him a few words of comfort. But when I heard Derek laugh at my comment, I deduced that Felix must have misunderstood my intention as well.
With a sullen face, he pointed at Derek and shouted, “You’re taking your partner’s side and not your friend’s? What are you laughing at?”
Once again, Felix rushed forward, as if to prove his worth.
