Chapter 353:

I wanted to get rid of Becky, but her grip on my hand was too strong. Slowly, she loosened her grip.

“Do you think Derek will forgive you if he replaces out you pushed me off a cliff? Do you think he’d still be willing to be with you after that?”

“Becky, don’t do anything crazy! If you do, you could die!”

Becky burst into maniacal laughter as she slowly backed away toward the edge of the cliff.

At that moment, I panicked. I had no idea what to do.

Suddenly, someone rushed over and pulled Becky back in time.

“You, little girl, are you crazy? You, you need to send her to a mental hospital.” said Louise in a voice laden with sarcasm.

When I turned around, I saw Derek heading towards me. He must have seen what just happened.

That’s when Becky threw herself into his arms, bursting into tears. I stayed pinned in place, watching her madness. She was crying as if she had suffered something traumatic.

For that, no one would have the nerve to blame her for making trouble out of nothing. After that twisted interaction, Derek escorted Becky back to her room. Louise and I returned to the bonfire.

There, only Aaron and Charlene remained. Lean must have left a few minutes ago. Louise felt very sorry for me.

Honestly, I was upset to see how Derek coddled Becky and tolerated her antics. But to be fair, she had already suffered a horrible experience that left her in a mentally fragile state.

If Derek had ignored her and gotten angry with her earlier, she probably would have done something irreparable. And by then, she might not even be able to live with Derek in peace.

Aaron asked us what had happened, and Louise told him all the details. It left him speechless, and not knowing how to react.

“Let’s stop thinking about it and drink. Besides, if Derek betrays you, I’m not going to show him any mercy.” Louise put her glass down hard.

Afterwards, we all drank heavily to drown our bitterness in alcohol.

All the while, Aaron was coughing. And the more he drank, the worse his cough got. I told him he should stop drinking, but he told me he was fine.

When I finally felt tipsy after having several drinks, a Dere International employee came to tell me that Derek was waiting for me at the hot springs and asked me to come there.

With unsteady steps, I made my way to the hot springs.

A few meters away from the small pools, there were many changing rooms.

Shortly after I arrived, a waiter brought me a bathing suit and left. I looked at the swimsuit in my hand and realized it was a two-piece bikini. I had never worn a bathing suit before, let alone something as revealing as this one.

After a moment of hesitation, I walked into the fitting room. I felt very uncomfortable and self-conscious as I put it on.

“Are you done?” asked Derek, knocking on the door.

“Isn’t there any other option? I don’t think this swimsuit fits me,” I replied.

“That swimsuit is in your size, isn’t it? How come it doesn’t fit you? Open the door. Let me take a look,” Derek, who was standing in front of the door, replied.

He was my husband and he had already seen every inch of my body, so there was no need to be coy with him.

With that in mind, I decided to open the door. Derek walked in and closed the door behind him. All he was wearing was a swimsuit, which exposed his muscular upper body. He looked me up and down with a smile on his face.

“You look beautiful, Eve!” Despite the compliment, I felt nervous.

Just then, I heard voices coming from outside.

“Layne, I’m hot!” It was Louise’s voice.

“You’re clearly drunk,” Layne said.

Louise had drunk like a sailor before, so she was probably already drunk. Seconds later, I heard the sound of churning water. She must have gotten into one of the hot springs.

“Layne, do you love me?” said Louise drunkenly.

“Of course I do.”

“Then let’s have sex!” she replied.

Her casual words startled me. She was probably drunk. She had to be. If Louise slept with Layne while she was drunk, she was going to regret it once she sobered up in the morning. I had to stop her.

I rushed to open the door, but Derek stopped me. He hugged me and whispered in my ear, “Hey, you shouldn’t get in her business. They’re a couple. Let them deal with their own problems.” His words immediately calmed me down.

She was right. Louise and Layne were a legally married couple. They were within their rights to have sex. So why was he trying to stop them?
