Chapter 389:.

“Get some rest. I may not care about you, but I’m not bad enough to cure you.” With that said, I got ready to leave, but Vivien called out to me.

“Eveline!” I stopped in my tracks and looked back.

I realized I hadn’t said what I really meant. Vivien made a face of circumstance and said, “Be careful of Shane. He’s crazy. I know he hates me, but he hates you even more.” I remembered what Shane did right after he reappeared, and for that, I had to admit that Vivien was right.

“He’s right. He’s crazy.” With that, I opened the door and left.

Just as I expected, Timmy was at the door, waiting for me. It seemed like he had never left.

On the way home, I remembered what Vivien had told me.

Shane hated me? What right did he have to hate me? Shouldn’t I be the one to hate him? That bastard miscarried my child, and I may never have another child!

Furthermore, he consented to my mother’s operation on my behalf without my permission, even if it had a low success rate. That meant he indirectly killed my mother. He spread my naked pictures and extorted fifty million dollars from Derek.

All of that was more than enough reason to hate him with every fiber of my being!

While it was true that we made him pay for everything he had done while we were in Goldelta, that bastard, Shane, deserved it. What gave him the right to take revenge on us? He didn’t have the fucking right to hate me!

All went well for the next two days. I was worried that Alvaro would do something about the fact that the grave he built had been blown up. But it looked like he wasn’t going to do anything for the time being.

Since Timmy was driving me around, Derek’s mind was at peace every time I went out. I knew what was bothering him. He was keeping an eye on two people-Shane and Alvaro.

The next afternoon, Timmy picked me up at Lavinia’s beauty salon. Normally, this road was quiet, but today there was a traffic jam.

Timmy grabbed a cigarette, but realized that his pack was empty. Since he couldn’t smoke while we were in a traffic jam, he seemed a little restless. His fingers tapped the steering wheel, showing his restlessness.

He had given me a ride in his car these days, so I was aware that he was a heavy smoker.

“Do you want me to get out of the car and buy you a pack?” I asked him.

Hearing my question, Timmy smiled meekly. “That’s fine, ma’am. I’ll go buy it myself.” He stopped the car. Then, he got out of the car to go buy a pack of cigarettes, asking me to wait for him in the car. As soon as he got out of the car, I received a strange phone call.

“Hello? Is this Mrs. Sullivan?” Very few people would call me Mrs. Sullivan. Therefore, I was suspicious of the caller and couldn’t help but feel nervous.

“Yes, it’s me. What’s wrong?”

“Mr. Sullivan had a car accident at the Samson Road intersection, would it be convenient for you to come right away?” The caller’s words scared the hell out of me.

“Is the situation serious?” I asked.

“We’re not sure yet, ma’am.” The Samson Road crossing the man mentioned was about twenty yards ahead of where I was.

I didn’t have time to tell Timmy, so I got out of the car and hurried to the location. At that point, I was almost certain that the cause of the traffic jam was the accident. I kept running, as I wanted to get there as soon as possible. However, in the back of my mind, I was very afraid of seeing something that I would never be able to accept.

The moment I saw from a distance that there were many people surrounding the intersection and that a large part of the front of a truck had been badly damaged, my legs began to shake.

I went straight towards the crowd. But before I could approach them, a man suddenly appeared and grabbed my wrist.

“Mrs. Sullivan, your husband has been taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Hurry, ma’am! You will need to sign the consent form for his operation.”

Indeed, this person already seemed suspicious to me. However, she kept insisting that I get into the car.

I was so concerned about Derek’s safety that I got into the car without carefully reconsidering. As I sat in the back seat, I noticed that there was a man in the back seat with me, and the passenger seat was also occupied.

The man who urged me to get into the car slid into the driver’s seat and sped away. He avoided the blocked road and headed down a particular road, driving very fast.

Within minutes of being in the car, I realized that the route the driver had taken was wrong, and I became suspicious.

“Which hospital are you in, and who are you?” no one answered me.

The man who had made me get into the car earlier wore a devilish grin.
