A few days later, it was already the date of Aaron and Charlene’s supposed wedding if it hadn’t been cancelled. But it also happened to coincide with Megan’s birthday. Megan invited us to Blue Sky for her birthday party.

After work, Derek called me to tell me that Eric had invited us to a party. I thought it was the same party as Megan’s party.

However, Derek said he had to take care of something, so I went first with Ady. Once at Blue Sky, Megan and Eric came to meet us. They took us to a booth and there I saw that Aaron was already seated. He looked at us and gave us a smile.

“Looks like I’m the most punctual of them all.”

If his wedding had gone ahead, this party would have been his. A few moments after we sat down, Megan’s friends arrived one after another. Derek was the last to arrive.

Now that everyone was here, the birthday girl, Megan, jumped up, cleared her throat and looked shyly at Eric.

“I’d like to introduce everyone to my boyfriend, Eric Daly. Well, it’s a popular name, so I’m sure you all know him well.” Hearing his introduction, I burst out laughing.

Meanwhile, Aaron and Derek held back laughter.

Embarrassed, Eric grabbed a bottle of wine and poured a glass for everyone. He was upset when he found out Aaron didn’t want to drink anything.

“Aaron, why don’t you want to drink, everyone else is drinking! Come on, man. I’ll pour you some.”

Aaron put the glass upside down on the table and replied, “I’m not feeling well and I don’t feel like drinking. Forgive me for my rudeness, dude.”

Although Eric was not satisfied with his explanation, he did not try to persuade him. “You’re not feeling well and don’t feel like drinking, huh? If your wedding ceremony had been held today, I’m sure you wouldn’t have turned down a drink tonight,” Eric blurted out.

Right after he said that, there was an eerie silence. Realizing he had said something stupid, Eric let out an awkward chuckle.

“Fine. If you don’t want to drink wine, go ahead, buddy. Drink whatever you want. The important thing is that everyone has a good time, okay?”.

In the middle of the party, I went to the ladies’ room with Ady.

“Alvaro, come on. Keep drinking.” Hearing that, I looked back in the direction of the voice and saw Alvaro sitting in a nearby booth. He looked like he had had a lot to drink. His face was red and his neck was red. He had several buttons of his shirt unbuttoned, exposing his pecs.

As soon as I looked at him, I saw that he was also looking at me. It seemed that he had already noticed me. Sitting next to him were two curvaceous, scantily clad women. They wore low-cut short skirts and were sitting very close to Alvaro. Their beautiful legs brushed his and gave him wine.

“Come on, Alvaro! Drink it all.”

After exchanging glances, Alvaro smiled contentedly and said, “Give it to me.”

It seemed that he was already drunk. The two women smiled back. One of them drank the glass of red wine, slowly bringing her red lips to his mouth. It was then that I turned around and headed towards the ladies’ room.

After walking a few steps, I realized Ady wasn’t following me. And when I turned around, I realized that she was still standing in the same place she was standing a moment ago. Her eyes were locked on Alvaro, and her hands were clenched into fists, but just as loose.

It took her a few moments, but she finally took her eyes off him and followed me. When I finished going to the washroom, I walked past Alvaro’s cabin. This time I didn’t look at him. I just picked up my pace and returned to my seat.

Eric was the one who had organized Megan’s birthday party, and he had scheduled a lot of romantic activities. I used to think I wasn’t a romantic person and that I was boring, but it turned out that none of that was true. It was just that I hadn’t met a person before who made it romantic.

In the end, everyone but Aaron had a lot to drink. Halfway through the drink, Ady suddenly got up and left. Everyone seemed to be having fun, so they didn’t notice, but I did. Driven by curiosity, I followed Ady.
