(Chapter song ‘Hit Me Up' by Gia Farrell)

WES

I’ll tell you something right now. If I have to go one more day of trying to avoid Thea, I’m going to fucking snap.

I’ve beat off more times than I can count. I can barely concentrate on anything else. She’s just so damn yummy, I can’t talk without drooling. It’s pathetic. What the hell is wrong with me?

All I want is to crawl on my knees and beg her to take me. I feel like such a douche.

Grey’s noticing too and of course, he’s making me pay for it.

“There’s the love sick puppy.” He grins as he meets me in the trainers office.

“Shut up.” I grit as I grab my bag.

“Where’s Thea?” He sings her name, leans to me and bats his eyes at me.

I shove his face away. “I swear to God. If you don’t stop…”

“Dude, if you were any more wet for her, you’d be a puddle. Wes is in love.” He swoons and chuckles.

“You are such a fucking child!” I shove him as he cackles. “I’m not in love.” I growl.

“Oh, you are. You got it bad, dude. That’s the same look you had with Veronica Fletcher.”

I glare at him. My mouth goes small and I tick my head. “I was 7.”

“And she was our second grade teacher. Not the point.” He grabs me and pushes me toward the office door. “I’m saying, I know when you’ve been bitten, Wes. You’re bleeding out, man. You better do something.”

“I can’t. She’s a recruit.” I remind.

He scrunches his face. “What?”

I look him over. He looks confused. “What, What?”

“Good morning, Wesley.”

I turn my head and my jaw drops. Thea’s walking my way in a tiny, flowing mint dress with little mint green strappy heels. Her curvy hips swaying it back and forth as her long, nibble worthy legs carry her across the floor into the trainers office.

Her hair is hanging all around her like a long, dark shroud. Can I pull it? I just want to pull it. I bite my lip as she gets closer. The top of her heart shaped bodice pronounces her breasts. I blow out a shaky breath.

“Hey, Thea. I put the training roster on your desk.” Grey smiles.

“Thanks.” She says as our eyes connect. She gives me a once over and a smirk as she passes us.

I watch her sit down at a desk and start going through paper work.

I spin around to Grey. “She’s a trainer?” I blurt under my breath.

“Yeah.” His brows come together.

“A trainer.” I say again.

He nods.

I look over to her and watch her cross her painfully sexy legs. I whine in my chest and turn back to Grey. “How is she a trainer?”

“What’s wrong with you?” He stares at me completely confused.

“What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with you?” I say under my breath. “She’s only been here a month! How is she a trainer?”

“Excuse me?” Grey folds his arms and looks at me, strangely.

“You heard me, Grey. Thea can’t be a trainer. She just got here.” I insist quietly.

“No. She’s been here for over three years. She made Alpha four months ago. You hit your head or something?” He searches my eyes as he leans to me.

I look back at her then back at Grey. I hold up my finger in his face then point to Thea. “No…No, that’s not…That…fine ass woman…just got here.” I grind as I jut my chin out and glare into his eyes.

He leans closer to my face. “Infirmary. Now.” He says.

“Grey. I’m not sick. I’m serious. Thea has not been here for three years. You need the infirmary, not me.” I thump my finger on his chest.

He grabs my arm and pulls me into the hallway. “Stop. You know Thea’s not a recruit. Now, I don’t know what’s going on with you, but you need to stop with the crazy talk. It’s really getting old.” He grits.

“Fine. I’ll prove it to you.” I look around and Ryley’s coming out of the office. “Ryley!” I call him and wave him over.

“Yep.” He says.

“Tell Grey how long Thea’s been here.” I tap his chest and cross my arms.

“Uh…Three years, I think.” He scratches the back of his head.

Grey shoots me a smug smile.

I turn to Ryley with my mouth small. “No. A month.”

He shakes his head. “No. It’s way longer than that. She just got Alpha so it has to be at least three years.”

I stare off into the distance. What the actual fuck?

“See. I told you. Now, stop fucking around. We have recruits to train.” Grey smacks my arm and leaves with Ryley.

Nope. I’m not crazy. I know I’m not. My eyes float to Thea who’s finishing up whatever it is she’s doing. This isn’t right.

She stands and fixes her shoe. Her healthy calf flexes and the feelings that I had in the shower this morning came flooding back. I casually cover the semi that’s twitching in my track pants.

My face softens and I press my lips together. She slides her hair to the front of her shoulder and her flowery scent hits my nose. I slowly nod.

I heave a breath as I scan every fucking delicious inch.

I stare at her as I reason this out in my head. Maybe I did hit my head and I don’t remember. Maybe I’m just confused? Like when you think something’s real after waking from a dream kind of thing. Sure. People miss time all the time, right? Very large amounts of time…but who’s counting, really. It doesn’t really matter, does it?

This is a good thing. She’s not a recruit so…

I mean, will my brain crack in two if I believe she’s been here for three years? I don’t think so.

Who needs rational thought? She bends over and picks up her trainers bag. Rational, logical, realistic thought? What’s that? I’m good without it.

She walks away and her bubble but swings her flowery dress side to side. “I’m so good without it…Thea!!”

I jog to her with a smile. “Let me carry your bag for you.”

She hands it to me. “Thanks. I was just going to change.”

“What a coincidence. Me too!” I point to my chest and grin.

She giggles and I open the door to the hall that leads to the locker rooms. “So. How’s it being an Alpha?”

“Seems good so far. I’m still a little nervous about it.” She says.

“I think…you’ll do just fine.” I nod and open the locker room door. “Can I just say that dress goes so well with your complexion.”

“Thanks.” She giggles as walks in.

Yes!! Thank you, God! I think as I float in behind her.

I watch Thea correct stances and teach holds. She knows all the throws, blocks and tackles. My brain has a million questions pounding around in it, but I’m not questioning shit. I’m free to ask her out and that’s all I care about. Besides. I kind of have my doubts setting in.

Everyone. I mean, everyone believes that Thea’s an Alpha. The only one who believes Thea just got here is me. So, what does that say? I should just shut the fuck up. That’s what that says.

Don’t ruin a good thing, Wesley. Just ask her out and don’t even think about anything else.

I wipe my sweaty palms off on my uniform as I walk up to the gorgeous creature showing William how to defend against a smaller opponent. It’s a good thing for William to know. Everyone’s smaller than him.

I stop when Thea gets in his space, hooks a leg and uses her small stature to knock him off balance and land him on his ass.

I clap and smile. “Good move.” I say.

She grins. “Thanks, Wes.” She’s always so proud looking.

William gets up. “The little lady is pretty good. You should meet my mate. I think you two would get along.” He chuckles.

“I’d like that.” She smiles.

“Hey, can I steal Thea for a minute?” I ask.

William waves to me. “Sure. I was tired of ending on my backside anyway.” He chuckles as he walks away.

I thumb over my shoulder. “Seriously, knocking that guy down takes skill.”

She fixes her ponytail. “I think he’s just being nice and letting me win.”

“Never. That’s an insult. You have impressive talent.” I fold my arms.

She smiles. “Thanks. So, you wanted to talk?” She eyes me.

“Right. So…Now that you got your rank…The Alpha…I mean…I was wondering if you wanted to go out for drinks with me.” I’m begging pleading and literally throwing a fit in my head as I wait patiently for an answer.

“You want to take me on a date?” Her brows go up and her jaw goes slack.

Fuck. Did I embarrass her?

“Not a date…I mean…unless you want a…date …we don’t...need…not like that…” I can’t fucking think!

“Oh. Ok…I think?” She arches a brow.

She thinks I’m an idiot! Wait…Did she say yes?

“Yes?” I grin.

“Yeah. I can…hang out.” She says.

I chuckle. “Alright. So, um. I’ll pick you up on Friday?”

“I’ll be here.” She giggles.

“Sweet…I’ll see you later, I guess.” I start to walk backwards.

“Later.” She repeats.

I grin again, spin around and break into a run across the field. I jump into the air halfway across. “YEAH!” It echoes loudly across the field, some recruits stop and watch me run by to go replace Grey.

I see him sparing with Tyler. I run up to him fast and practically spill us both on our asses.

“Grey. Grey. Grey.” I can barely breathe. I hang off him and catch my breath for a moment.

“What?” He growls.

I wave at him as I hang off him. “I just asked out Thea.”

“Wes. Why do you look like you’re going to hurl your lunch on me?” He leans back.

I grab his head. “I just…asked out…Thea!”

“SO?” He rips me off him and holds out his hands.

“So?! She said yes!” I start to feel light headed. “Fuck. I’m passing out.” I falter and fall to my ass. I pull my knees up and try to breath as I think of the massive mistake I just made. I just asked out the girl of my fucking dreams and I thought I could actually handle it? What the hell am I thinking?!

Grey squats down and rests his arms on my knees. “Wes. Relax. It’s a date. You’ve gone on plenty of dates.”

“I’ve never gone on a date with this girl!” I tap my head hard with the palm of my hand as my body heats. I’ve seen this woman naked in my head so many times, now that it’s real and I’m about to try an impress her, I’m kicking my own ass.

Grey lowers his head and shakes it. “Ok, look.” He raises his head to me. “She’s just a really hot girl. That’s it. You can do this. You’re a Beta male. You need to act like it.” He tilts his head to me.

I narrow my eyes. “A Beta male.” I grumble.

“Yes. A fierce Beta male that wants to conquer that hottie.” He picks me up. He slaps his hand on my nape. He points his finger in my face. “You will go. You will wine and sweet talk. You won’t be the pussy you usually are and you will bed her. Now, growl.”

“I’m not growling, Grey.” I shake my head.

“Wes, your wolf needs this. Growl!” He glares at me and shakes me a bit. “Come on. Just like when we were kids.” He rubs my shoulders like a prize fighter.

I let out a tiny growl.

He leans back. “What the hell was that?”

“A growl.” I shrug.

He arches a brow. “So, when you have her pinned in the sheets…that’s what you’re going with?”

“Grey, come on…” I whine.

He wraps his arm around my shoulders. “We have so much work to do before this date, Lil bro. Come on.”

I hang my head in shame because the only person I have to prepare me for Thea is my idiot brother.

Somebody shoot me.
