Chapter 73 The Temptation of New Information

“Do you need me to teach you how to handle this?” Benson’s voice was calm yet authoritative, leaving no room for doubt.

“I understand,” George replied, his voice tinged with resignation. He knew this was strictly business, devoid of personal feelings.

Indeed, aside from the entanglement over that pendant,” there seemed to be no other connection between them.

And that pendant was more like a distant memory, blurred over time.

Moreover, after Mary’s embarrassing “humiliation” of his wife at Asia Entertainment last time, her resources had already dwindled significantly.

All of this made George feel a heavy sense of burden.

Hanging up the phone, Benson returned to the room. The soft lighting created a warm and serene atmosphere.

Yvonne lay on her side in bed, her hair gently falling beside her cheek, adding a touch of softness to Benson’s gaze.

From his angle, he could only see her upturned nose and slightly smiling lips, as if she were smiling even in her sleep.

Benson quietly approached the bed, his fingers tenderly brushing aside the hair from her cheek.

He gazed at her sleeping profile and the marks on her body, remnants of their passion.

A wave of warmth surged through him, recalling how captivating she looked in her moments of passion.

Life, overall, was pretty good!

Yvonne was exceptional, not only beautiful but also smart and witty, always bringing joy and surprises.

Though their love might not burn as intensely as before, Benson had to admit that life was still quite satisfying now.

Being with Yvonne always brought a sense of warmth and comfort, a feeling he cherished. Yesterday, after a long journey from Miami to Biscayne Point, Yvonne hadn’t had a proper rest before being awakened by a series of phone vibrations.

Half–awake, she lay in bed, the phone buzzing, but she was too lazy to respond.

It wasn’t until a hurried knock on the door that she rubbed her sleepy eyes, donned and opened the door.

Outside stood her friend Bella, urgently pulling her to the sofa and handing over a phone.

Half–asleep, Yvonne took the phone, the screen displaying Benson’s headline news. But the more she looked, the more something felt off. The woman in Benson’s arms in the photos. looked increasingly like herself.

She instantly woke up, realizing these were moments from their sweet kisses in the alley last night. Some photos only showed her back, while others didn’t capture her face.

Yvonne was bewildered, not knowing how these photos came to be.

Her heart raced with countless questions: Who took these photos? Why did they appear in the news? Would they affect her relationship with Benson?

But the internet was already abuzz, with netizens confirming that the woman with Benson in Biscayne Point wasn’t Mary.

The news quickly went viral, with fans flooding their social media accounts response.

Yvonne felt dizzy, unsure how to face it all.

demanding a

Her heart was filled with anxiety and unease, fearing these photos would ruin her relationship with Benson and make her a target of public scrutiny.

Yvonne found Benson in the hotel restaurant.

Biscayne Point had a large day–night temperature difference. He was wearing a khaki knit sweater from yesterday, enjoying breakfast. Seeing Yvonne, he gave her a once–over before leisurely saying, “Awake?”

Yvonne felt uneasy, aware that the hotel’s wooden structure didn’t provide good sound insulation.

She could clearly hear conversations from the neighboring rooms, making her more

nervous.

Trying to stay calm, she sat across from Benson, pushed her phone to him, and coldly asked, “What’s the meaning of this?” Her voice trembled slightly, clearly struggling to control her emotions.

Her attitude had noticeably cooled and become distant.

Benson, however, seemed to prefer her passionate demeanor from last night. He moved beside her, pulling her into his arms.

Yvonne struggled, saying, “Let go.” Her voice held a hint of pleading, worried about being seen in such an intimate act.

Despite the restaurant not being crowded, such closeness made her uncomfortable.

Benson held her tightly, whispering in her ear, “Weren’t you clinging to me tightly last night? His voice carried a hint of teasing, mocking her contradiction.

“Have you no shame?!” Yvonne responded angrily, struggling to control her emotions. She felt humiliated, unsure how to face this man she once deeply loved.

“No,” he said, nuzzling her neck before lifting his gaze slightly. “Miss Yvonne, so smart, yet can’t understand simple words?” His tone was playful, mocking her reaction.

Yvonne didn’t believe Benson had broken up with Mary. After all, Mary was his precious one; how could he bear to let her go? Her heart was filled with doubt and unease, unsure what game this man was playing.

Benson seemed to see through her thoughts, kissing her hair, and gently said, “You want a divorce, I can’t always threaten you. I need to solve the problem at its root and show some sincerity, my dear wife.”

When the romantic kissing photos of Benson and the “mysterious woman” in Biscayne Point went viral, Mary’s heart sank.

Her world seemed to collapse in an instant. She knew she had been abandoned.

Those once sweet memories now turned into sharp blades piercing her heart.

To prevent the breakup from affecting Benson’s company, the internet was flooded with insider revelations claiming she and Benson were never truly a couple.

These voices, like waves, mercilessly washed away her remaining dignity.

Benson had never publicly acknowledged Mary as his girlfriend.

All the hype about proposals and pregnancies were fabricated by her, baseless.

She indeed rose to fame through Benson’s name, but it was all with his tacit approval. For the one in his heart, Benson had crafted her into a star.

Now, for Yvonne, he decided to abandon her, even destroy her completely, showing his coldness and ruthlessness.

He had no romantic feelings for her. Only because of the pendant did he enter her life, bringing her into a different world.

The clues she provided over the years were in vain. He was ruthless to her.

George arrived, his face stern, throwing a transfer record to Zoe; “Turn yourself in. Mr. Benson’s orders, by tomorrow.” Mary’s heart felt like it had plunged into an icy abyss; she knew it was truly over.

That night, her assistant hurriedly arrived with a painting. Hope gleamed in Mary’s eyes.

She immediately picked up the phone and dialed George’s number, “Assistant George, I have new information about that person.”
