Many thought it was a mysterious phenomenon to have a desert near an artic climage. It was considerably cooler around the borders with snow laying ontop of sand in many places.
Nyota no longer felt so itchy and hot, the cooler temperatures made her feel far more refreshed which led her to travel quicker.
She was five days from Akala’s pass when she decided to make camp. Her fire was slow burning and set low into the ground so it didn’t attract much attention but she became on edge when the surrounding brush began to crack and the shuffling of feet could be heard.
Moving to the farside of the fire, she stared into the shadows as the shuffling came closer. “Well, look what we have here boys! Looks like a juicy piece of meat decided to wonder into our camp,” a voice purred.
Nyota watched as the figure came out of the brush and for a moment, her heart stopped as she mistook him for Syn. While they had the same black hair and angular face, this wolf’s voice was higher pitched and she noticed that he wasn’t as bulky as Syn. This wolf also had severe blood fever, the red almost engulfing all but a sliver of blue in the eyes.
She glanced at the others who stood behind him and felt overwhelmed. Three had on heavy black hoods, their eyes shadowed so she couldn’t tell whether they were fevered or not. The last wolf was brown haired, scrawny, and fevered just as bad as the first.
Clenching her fists, she stared at the black haired defiantly, “Please, make yourselves at home. I was just getting ready to leave. The fire is still quite hot.”She bent down and shifted her pack to her back as she watched the movements of all the wolves.
“You’re not going anywhere. Come here like a good little dunishka and we may take it easy on you,” the lead wolf rumbled as he licked his lips, his eyes trained on her ample breasts.
The scrawny brown haired one came forward and placed his hand on the leads arm, “Gregory c-c-can we sh-sha-share? I p-promise not to kill this-is one!” he said as he stuttered around his drool, which he promptly wiped across his sleeve.
Gregory looked at he hand that was touching him and growled low, causing the other to jump back. Then looked thoughtfully at Nyota, he turned to the other three, “Keep watch, after we’re done you can have what ever is left! Isaac, you’re with me!” he barked and started to move towards Nyota who instantly took off into the shadows towards the ice.
Nyota would rather take her chances with the Ice spiders than with five blood fevered wolves. One was dangerous as it was and she knew she’d never make it out alive with five. She hoped that the commotion would draw the spiders to them. But it was a disillusioned hope.
As she took her first steps onto the ice floes, she knew she’d made a mistake. Instead of being helpful, the ice was a disadvantage as her feet began to slip and slide as she tried to run. Hearing laughter behind her, she turned to face Gregory. “Come dunishka, I can already see you can’t keep your footing on the ice. Come to me now and you’ll survive what’s to come. I may even take you to Lyosha so he can partake in your deliciousness!”
Nyota growled low as she unsheathed her sword, “Come get me skaxis if you’re so confident!”
“Why you little bitch!” he spat as he walked onto the ice, drawing his own sword, “I’ll take you while you’re bleeding to death. The last thing you’ll feel is me pounding into that tight pussy before you leave this world!” Gregory snarled as he advanced onto Nyota and swung his sword at her.
Nyota knew she was definitely in trouble as she raised her sword and blocked. But instead of keeping her footing, the impact of the blades pushed her back several feet. She whimpered as she worked to keep her feet under her and looked up just as a fist came at her face, sending her to her back and sliding several yards once again, luckily, she still had her sword as she slid.
Trying to get up, she fell several times as her head pounded from the punch. “Come now, give yourself up and we can dispense with this play. Its obvious you’re at a disadvantage!” Gregory taunted as he sauntered over to Nyota, a smirk on his grizzly face.
Nyota looked around quickly as he got nearer and found something that may help her. Making a quick dash in the direction of the snow bank, she felt relief as her feet found purchase on a little more solid ground, even if it was a snow bank on ice.
As she turned back to face Gregroy, she pulled her sword up and blocked his swing once again but this time she didn’t go flying. Instead a battle of swords and fists began. Nyota had never used her other fist or even her legs to kick in a battle before when it came to fighting with the sword. She knew any hit she gained on Gregory didn’t pack much energy behind it. All it did was tire her out further as he played with her.
Lunging forward was a mistake the minute she moved as she overstepped. All Gregory did was step to the side and her sword went past him. Before she could correct, he grabbed part of the hilt and yanked, leaving her swordless.
Gregory then dropped his own sword and wrapped his hands around her throat and pulled her to the ground with him ontop. Frantically, Nyota clawed at his hands, he wasn’t choking her yet but as she struggled, he squeezed, “Sheath those claws,” he snarled as he got punctured and raked. As her struggles continued, he let go of her neck and tried to grab at her wrists while he sat ontop of her stomach. As he triumphantly got ahold of one of her wrists, he had lost sight of the other.
Just as he was about to go after the other wrist, he jerked in surprise as he felt a dagger slide into his neck and slide across his throat so that as he looked down he saw his blood spray across Nyota’s face before he slumped over dead.
Shoving Gregory’s body off of her own, she sat staring up at the stars as she tried to catch her breath. But she immediately heard others rushing towards her direction, she jumped to her own and faced off against the others. She didn’t see it in good odds but if she had to she’d shift to her wolf. She had plenty of experience battling as a wolf.
Frantically she looked for her sword but couldn’t see it as she was surrounded by two of the four wolves that were left. She didn’t know where the other two were, but she’d take them all to Aabaylon. Bending down, she slowly picked her dagger up from Gregory’s throat and twirled it with a growl, “Which one of you skaxis is next?”
Both men stared at her, their arms spread out on either side as if to crowd her in. And as she thought that, arms locked around her from behind and snatched the dagger from her hand while immobilizing her, “Me,” came a soft purr before Nyota felt teeth scrape her neck.
Stiffening in shock, Nyota began to struggle all the harder and snarled, “You disgusting skaxis! I’ll never let any of you pigs enter my body! I’ll chew through all your dicks!” she began to yell and screamed even louder as one of her captor’s hands came up to cover her mouth.
“Quiet,” he snarled as Nyota tried to thrash against him and continued to scream around the hand.
“Best knock her out before she draws the ice spiders to us!” one of the other’s hissed as the second went and picked up Nyota’s sword.
“By Allaidh, it’s the sword!” he said in surprise and reverence. Nyota’s eyes widened in horror as she looked at the wolves, in her mind she screamed, They have the sword! They have the fucking sword! In a scream of rage, Nyota bit down on her captor’s hand and as he drew it back with a hiss, she slammed her head back against his and felt satisfaction when he dropped her.
As she took a step towards the other two with her sword, the man behind her muttered and moaned, “Why do you always go for the nose D’atai?”
Nyota stopped in her tracks and turned around in surprise, “Syn?” she asked quietly as she looked into her mates sea ice eyes. It was definitely him though he had certainly changed significantly. Instead of short hair that curled at the ends, he had grown it out so that it rested on his shoulders, the waves evident in the length. When he had been with her, Syn had always kept his face clean shaven, now there was a neat trimmed beard and to her, he looked bigger.
“There’s my mate,” Syn murmured as he caught her in his arms and nuzzled the top of Nyota’s head.
