Can't Get Away With You
Chapter 8 Crisis In Shopping Mall

The servant put the food on the table with her head down and left without saying a word.

Joey picked up a small bowl of porridge, scooped up a spoonful of porridge and blew it. Then he handed it to Maggie's lips and said, "eat it!" "I want mom to feed me!" Maggie resisted, holding the Pooh Toy in her arms.

Joey narrowed his eyes and asked, "eat or not?"

Maggie was frightened by his cold voice. She bit her lips and didn't dare to cry out, but the Pooh Toy in her arms was a little deformed.

Joey softened, "Maggie, I'm very busy. Maggie will be a good kid of dad if she has a good meal."

"I know dad is very busy," the little girl rubbed her red eyes and said, "I just want mom to be with me..."

Joey's face turned pale. Since when did the little girl say such words? She knew that her father was very busy, as long as her mother was with her...

It was Lois who had been taking care of her all the time. He had never done anything for her, so naturally there would be no return.

Joey's phone rang. He turned around and answered it. It was Sally, who often went to the hospital to visit Maggie.

"Joey, do you have time? Is it convenient for you to meet me?" Sally said softly.

"I'm worried about Maggie at home alone..."

"Why is Maggie alone at home? Is she okay? Is she crying?" Sally said worriedly.

Joey sighed helplessly, "she is still mad at me. She won't let me go."

The smile on Sally's face froze, and she cursed in her heart, 'she is indeed as ill bred as her mother!!!

But she smiled gently, "how can you take care of the child as a man? Let me go to see her."

Joey looked at the little girl who was full of vigilance and said, "okay."

Joey put down his phone and looked at the way that Maggie pursed her lips. She looked exactly like her mother. Whenever she was on guard, she would always pursed her lips slightly. "Aunt Sally will come back to see you later. Maggie, be a good girl, okay?"

Maggie immediately said, "no, I don't want her! I don't want a bad woman to come here!"

"Shut up!" Joey shouted harshly. Seeing the frightened look in the little girl's eyes, he said softly, "how can you be impolite to Auntie?"

Maggie curled her lips. She wanted to cry but dared not. She remembered that the teacher in the kindergarten said that If she had a new mother and her father would not love her anymore. She lowered her head and cried silently. Joey thought she was frightened by his usual coldness, so he turned around with guilt. For a moment, the two of them became depressed.

When Sally arrived, she saw that Joey was having a cold war with Maggie. She smiled at Maggie, but the little girl only said, "Auntie, I'm sleepy." Then she turned around and pretended to be asleep.

Lois had called Joey several times to discuss about the divorce, but she had been perfunctory by Joey.

Seeing that she was getting thinner and thinner, Tania Tang couldn't bear it and said, "you'd better be more open-minded. Don't get yourself involved if you can't get a divorce!"

Lois shook her head and didn't want to say anything more.

"By the way, I'm going to buy some summer clothes. Would you like to go with me?" Tania Tang put down the coffee in her hand and said.

When Lois was about to refuse, Tania Tang pulled her up and said, "let's go! The shopping mall nearby."

Lois was pulled to the women's wear area by Tania Tang. "Can you stop being so depressed! It will be a great loss if the baby can't come back and put your body in danger!"

Biting her lips, Lois said, "If Joey doesn't agree. I can't even divorce him, let alone take Maggie away."

"Half of you and half of him. The child is like you, also like him. He won't watch his child being beaten by her stepmother. Don't worry!" Looking at the exquisite cheongsam in front of her, Tania Tang said, "this one is good. You can have a try!" Looking at the cheongsam, Lois was also interested.

"Salesgirl, replace her size!" Pointing at Lois, Tania Tang said.

The cheongsam was snow-cyan, which was rare to see. It was embroidered with pink blue gold silk and Phoenix, which was her favorite high necked long cheongsam. She gently put on the delicate white buckle. But unexpectedly, another hand touched the cheongsam at the same time.

"Salesgirl, take it down and let me have a try!" Sally smiled.

Lois turned to look at the person who had the same eyes as her, but was full of astonishment, and so was Sally.

The sales clerk was a little girl. She blushed and said, "I'm sorry, you two. This is the only cheongsam I have."

Sally smiled politely. She had a delicate face and looked gentle and harmless when she smiled. She took out a gold card from her bag and put it on the bar counter, with the name of Joey Gu engraved on it.

Sally smiled and spread out her right hand, indicating that Lois should have a try first.

Lois felt disgusted to see Sally's pretentious posture. If she tried, which showed that she was not as important as a mistress. If she didn't try, she would be narrow-minded and petty.

Lois smiled. It didn't matter. The worst result was that she would pay her back next time!

Raising her chin, Lois said, "take it off for me."

The little girl hemmed and hawed without saying anything or taking any action. After a while, the Department Manager rushed over, took a flattering look at Sally, turned around and apologized to Lois, "I'm sorry, miss. I have to let this lady try on this dress first, and when I make sure that she doesn't need it..."

Lois didn't know that this card had such great power. She looked at Sally who was with undisguised complacency and disdain. Did she feel that she was trampled under her feet? That's why you are so proud?

Sally picked up the cheongsam and smiled helplessly. A trace of shyness flashed across her face. "I'm really sorry. I didn't expect that Joey is so considerate..."

Then she pretended to be hesitant and said, "Miss Shen, you'd better take a look at other things first. I will pay all the expenses you buy here today, as my sorry."

Sally picked up the cheongsam she had just taken off and was about to try it on, but Tania Tang grabbed the hem of the cheongsam. Sally lost her balance and almost fell down. The sales clerk held her in a hurry. The manager was relieved and hurried to comfort her, "Miss, are you okay?"

Sally generously waved her hand and said, "I'm fine. Don't worry."

The manager and the sales clerk looked at the two of Lois them with more resentment, but they didn't say anything because that the customer was just like a god.

Tania Tang looked at the manager with a sneer, "I was the one called the sales clerk first, and I was the one who picked the cheongsam first. Why should they let her try first?"

"That's it for today. I'll buy this cheongsam. Even if I can't wear it, I'll buy it back as a duster cloth!"

Looking at Sally's hateful face, Lois thought of Sally's gently raised hand and threw her lifelong hope into the trash can. She wanted everything for her, but she wouldn't give it to her!

With a slight smile, Lois took out her card from her wallet and said, "I don't want to try it on anymore. Pack it for me and I'll buy it directly!"

Sally sneered, as if laughing at her ridicule.

The manager frowned slightly and said, "Miss, I didn't mean to make things difficult for you. But the card this lady took out is not an ordinary card. It's a high-end customized white gold card of our company. There are less than five cards in total. These are specially made for several senior directors in the company."☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
