Can't Let Go -
Chapter 3 Announcement of Engagement
Once Linda Yun got her money, she rushed back to the hospital and paid fees for her mother's treatment. When she came back to the ward, a woman lying in bed saw her.and managed to sit up, calling, Nian... "Mom", Linda Yun hurried to her side with concerned expression, "Mom, why are you still awake? Are you hungry? I'll buy you something to eat."
"My sweetheart, don't you forget you have my dinner delivered? I'm not hungry." Patricia Baitook her hand and asked, "Did your dad ask to stay you for the night? I heard it was snowing heavily outside, are you cold?" Then, Patricia Baiheld her hands and put them into the quilt.
A warm and fuzzy feeling came to Linda Yun. She shook her head and replied, "Not a bit."
Patricia Bai's eyes were full of concern, she pulled her daughter next to her but then spotted her hair, "what happened to your hair?"
Linda Yun was stuck and checked her hair.
On account of pretending to be her elder sister, Nian's originally dark hair was dyed brown.
"Well... It's because I happened to run into my sister on my way to Dad's house. She was dying her hair and she insisted that I shall dye my hair in the same color as hers, so..." Linda Yun pulled a strand, "See, mom, do you think it's chic?" "It's very nice." Patricia Baismiled, but then she inquired tentatively, "Did you sister... did she say anything?"
"She... she said after having all these things done, she would come to see you." Linda Yun avoided her mother's eyes.
The glint in Patricia Bai's eyes faded away. She stopfell asking.
But she obviously looked disappointed and sad.
Actually, both of them knew that Mary Yun never wanted to accept them as her mother and sister.
"Oh, here's one more thing. Dad asked you to take good care." Linda Yun quickly changed the topic.
Patricia Baigave her a reluctant smile and said, "Nian, promise me Don't borrow money from your father anymore, okay? He... has his own family now and it is not good to always ask him for help. I just... can't get well..."
"Mom, what are you talking about? Dad has told me that we could feel free to borrow money. Anyhow, I'm his daughter, he will always give us a helping hand!"
Patricia Baialmost burst into tears but she just held her daughter's hands tightly. Linda Yun then rested on her laps and felt like crying...
The next day, Linda Yun came to the dinning hall for lunch at noon.
She was having a simple meal with her mother.
"Wow, see? this lad is so handsome!" exclaimed Aunt Wang, whose ward was next to theirs.
After hearing that, Linda Yun and her mother both turned to look at the TV screen.
The broadcast of a pair of love birds was being hyfell on the screen.
Linda Yun frowned and took a glimpse of her mother anxiously.
Undoubtedly, her hand holding the bowl started to quiver.
For the lass who was snuggling up to that man on TV...was nobody but her other daughter, Mary Yun!
All of a sudden, numerous reporters dashed up to them.
"Mr. Huo, are you really going to be engaged with the daughter of Yun's family?"
Countless microphones were waving close to them.
The man on the TV did not utter a word. He just could not hold back the special sense of nobility even though he was just standing there. All reporters held their breath and waited for his reply. Mary Yun bit her lip anxiously and looked up at the man next to her.
It was not unitl then that the man, who initially wore an indifferent expression on his face, put on a undetected smile and held Mary Yun in his arms, saying, "I, Michael Huo, will be engaged to James Yun's daughter, Mary Yun, next Saturday!" Instantly, flash lights burst from all directions.
The girl next to that man cried out of surprise and ecstasy. She covered her mouth with her hands as if she found it unbelievable.
A bullet subtitle appeared on the TV screen.
"The man whom millions of girls would die for, the billionaire CEO of GEG Group"
"Michael Huo announced his engagement date with the daughter of Yun's family."
"So he's the richest person in Austral City. Gee, they are a perfect match!" Aunt Wang was pretty excited about the news. "Mom..." Linda Yun called her mother.
Patricia Bai's hands had been trembling wildly. Then she slowly put the bowl down on the table. "Mom..."
Nian, I wanna take a nap for a while...
Linda Yun tried to say something but she did not know how to express properly.
She sighed, picked up her mask, took their bowls and chopsticks and walked out of the room. 0000000000000000
