Chapter 103

Nebraska felt the breeze hit her rear in the position they were in. Celesia ran quickly, hardly fazed by the weight of her, not that the omega weighed much either. She didn’t know where he was taking her, but just in case, she remembered everything she had learned as a puppy and with a nimble movement that Celesia hadn’t expected she managed to break free of his grip and jump.

She fell to her knees on the ground, lessening the impact. The other she-wolf stopped abruptly and looked at her with an unusual gleam in her eye.

-Oh, you’re better than I thought,” she said.

Nebraska straightened up with her guard up and cautiously.

-What do you wish with me,” she was serious even though she felt no murderous aura about her person.

-Well… didn’t I tell you before that I wanted to test your strength against mine? It’s time,” and he lunged at Nebraska.

Hades ran after his wife. His mother had an innate facility for unravelling her scent and eliminating her scent and whatever was nearby, so it was almost completely impossible for him to replace them by following her scent. His mother could have taken his wife anywhere and knowing her crazy head there was no telling what she would do to him.

He was about to take another step when his father’s hand stopped him. And when he turned around he was astonished to replace his father.

-You’re going around in a circle, follow me, the show’s already started,” he said.

Hades looked at him in bewilderment.

-What show? God, what the hell is my mother doing to my wife?

Saisen scratched his cheek.

-More like,” he laughed uncomfortably, “What is your wife doing to your mother?

Now Hades understood even less.

-Take me to where they are.

Saisen nodded and they both ran to where the bustle was enormous. Hades did not expect to replace all his sons and part of the herd cheering for two figures fighting in the middle of the circle of people. Hades made his way over to replace his sons in the front row, next to his brother and beta.

As he looked he realised the reason for the hubbub.

Perhaps Celesia and Nebraska were fighting. His mouth opened and he went to intervene when he was stopped by each arm, Siran on one side and Leoxi on the other.

-Leoxi had an unnatural grin on his face.

-Besides, the queen seems to be having fun,” Siran followed him.

-And we all want to know who is really more powerful, although… no one knows, one is strong, but with brute strength and the other has her wiles. This is really fun.

Hades looked around dumbfounded, from his closest wolves to his children where even Priscilla was cheering in Nicolas’ arms. This was total madness. Finally he looked ahead with his heart pounding. He was really worried about Nebraska. He knew how strong his wolf was and what she was capable of, but he also knew what her mother was like, and inside his chest he felt the pressure that something would happen to her if he didn’t stop them.

But it only took him a minute to realise that his worries were all for nothing. Nebraska didn’t seem, by any stretch of the imagination, to be having any trouble containing her mother.

And indeed. Nebraska’s eyes were completely golden with no irises in them. Her hair was waving slightly and thanks to that she was slowing down the movements of the huge she-wolf in front of her with her power. She recognised that Celesia was a tough, fast, strong, agile and voracious opponent, but she had already faced wolves with these same characteristics.

So it was because Celesia was slower that she was able to dodge her so easily. Still, it was a miracle that she moved at all. Normally everyone succumbed when she used her power like that. And so it went on for at least another ten minutes. Practically evenly matched, though the she-wolf had almost caught Nebraska’s arm or two.

Both ended up panting, exhausted, one from the effort of using her powers and the other from not achieving her goal. Celesia growled and transformed, elegantly slicking back her hair despite her body showing signs of fatigue.

-You’re a tough nut to crack,” she raised an eyebrow.

-Thank you,” Nebraska straightened her sword, “It runs in the family.

Celesia couldn’t help it any longer and let out a huge laugh that silenced those around them.

-Hey, my son, that’s quite a she-wolf you got there, I’m sure she kicks your a*s every time you don’t listen to her,” she said.

Hades scrunched up the bridge of his nose.

-Mother… the pack is present, watch your comments.

She grimaced.

-As if it were a lie.

And they all scoffed too. Hades growled in annoyance and turned and walked back inside the mansion. Everyone shut up and swallowed dryly as they noticed their alpha in that state and knew they were in silence. But the atmosphere turned so cold for the moment that attention was focused on Nebraska when she spoke.

-Celesia,” her tone was gruff and icy.

The laughing woman stopped laughing and focused on the younger she-wolf.

-Oh, it upset you that I said that to my son,” she bowed her head.

-Hades is not a pup, Hades is the alpha of this pack, the father of my children and the strongest wolf in this territory, he deserves respect even if he is your son. And even more so if they are in front of the pack members.

No one said anything. They all remained silent, no one had ever spoken to Celesia like that before, she was after all their former queen and before that the commander of the pack, you really had to have courage to tell her at least ji. But the she-wolf’s reaction was different from what everyone thought.

-I like you,” Celesia blurted out startling everyone who thought she was going to start a new argument, Nebraska was unfazed by her words, “When you started fighting me I knew you were strong, I saw you in the battle against the iron pack, so I knew what to expect. But this is what I really wanted to see, that you would defend Hades with all your being no matter what you faced.

Nebraska lifted her chin.

I am his she-wolf, of course I would defend him, even if I have to give my life for him I would gladly do so. He’s the wolf by my side, the wolf I love, and that’s what mates do,” her words made the admiration they all had for her grow. Nebraska was simply a lot of Nebraska.

-Saisen reached over and pulled her shirt over her shoulders. “She’s the perfect wolf for our son, plain and simple,” she said.

Celecia looked Nebraska up and down.

-I give you my approval,” she smiled at her, “Take care of that protesting puppy while we’re gone.

Nebraska nodded her head, smiling slightly as well.

-I always do.

And pleased Celesia turned to her son Leoxi who put on a serious face.

-Ah, no, you keep me out of your business. Your problem was with Hades, you leave me out of it,” the commander stepped back uncomfortably. A rather strange scene for someone who used to keep pretty good control.

-Oh, don’t run away puppy, I’ve already solved the life of one, now I’d like to know who you like,” he said.

But before she could answer, Leoxi had turned and ran away.

-Coward,” Celesia grimaced in mock disgust.

And Nebraska looked at her with tenderness in her eyes. She understood her. Celesia could tell she wanted more affection from her children and refused to let them run off on their own paws even though they were adults. She looked at her children and wondered if she would be the same when they were older.

Well, that was a long time away. In the meantime she would simply enjoy their company and their hugs as they were now congratulating her.

-Hades exhaled exhaustedly from the window.

His wife’s arms wrapped around him from behind.

-You say that, but then you’re asking about them or when they’re coming to see you,” Hades clicked his tongue.

Hades clicked his tongue and turned to embrace Nebraska and k**s her cheek.

-Remind me from now on not to do that, instead I’ll just concentrate on you,” he said softly and affectionately, “Besides, it was nice to hear you say all that against my mother, I didn’t know it meant so much to you. I’m really happy about that.

Nebraska stared at him and the wolf could see a hint of blush on her cheeks.

-It’s the truth,” was all she said.

-I know,” and Hades kissed her, taking her by the thighs so that her legs were around his waist, “Now help me relax in the bathroom, I’m a little tense and I have all night free,” his eyes sparkled with mischief.

And Nebraska could only k**s him and give herself completely to him.
