Captive Of The Alpha -
Chapter 76
Nebraska had to wait at least two minutes before all the alpha wolves in that room calmed down again. She had closed her eyes calmly, undeterred. She knew this was going to be a hard fight to win, for, after all, they did not fully trust her. She felt the weight of her husband’s gaze but did not respond. This was something she had to do whether she liked it or not for the sake of everyone around her.
Layan finally brought order again and she opened her eyes. There was no sign of her backing down in her eyes.
-Can we go on,” she asked, bowing her head. They had barely let her continue after she had asked them for their b***d.
The wolf nodded and waited for Layan’s affirmation before speaking.
-The reason the queen asked for something that may seem far-fetched to you was because she is certain that it can work,” he said.
-You know very well that the b***d of another wolf, if it is not compatible, will destroy her,” Asula, the older wolf spoke from experience.
-I know, I have been a pack doctor for too long. I have also seen how well she has assimilated my alpha’s b***d.
-Layan growled, the very thought of Nebraska being in danger again made his b***d boil.
-This time we can guarantee it,” all attention was on the wolf so intensely that his shoulders shook, but he continued, “Before the queen was kidnapped she gave us a good portion of her b***d,” Hades’ face turned pale, “Thanks to that we were able to study her in depth. Even though she is young, her body is capable of accepting the b***d of any wolf.
-That’s nonsense, it’s not possible,” Litus, one of the twin alphas protested.
-My father trained me from puppyhood and every day he made me take a small dose of the b***d of a member of the pack,” continued Nebraska, “The first few days were difficult, but then the body gets used to it, so when Hades rescued me and gave me his b***d I had no trouble assimilating it.
-One of these days I’d like to know how you were raised,” Layan said seriously, “And the other thing I’m interested in, the reason you want our b***d.
Nebraska kept her back straight, now the real battle began, for she knew they would surely refuse.
-If I take your b***d I will get stronger and I will be able to use my ability to control the pack members by breaking the effect on Liam’s, that will give them the possibility to attack without killing innocent wolves.
-And you being in the middle of the battlefield, no way,” Layan growled.
-And what guarantee do we have that you won’t just control those wolves and turn on us,” Leon, the other twin spoke up.
-He has no such intentions,” Hades interrupted in a tone that had no claim, “If he did, I’d know about it. He’s my mate, I know what he’s thinking.
A silence fell in the room. If Hades said something like that there was no way to contradict him.
-You’ll be in the rear,” Layan said, standing up and facing her, “I’ll allow it only because we have no choice,” he knew he might regret his decision, “You’ll be guarded by the best wolves in each pack, but if anything gets out of control they’ll take you back to the shelter and you won’t be able to fight it.
Nebraska raised her head and with a serious expression nodded. Layan exchanged a glance with Hades who stood tensely beside him. He knew the wolf didn’t want those words to come out of his mouth, but the alpha knew his wolf and he knew the end of it so he didn’t object.
-Caesar brought a drink,” Hades ordered.
Soon after, each one of them bit his wrist and left a little of his b***d in the cup.
Hades was the second to last and Layan the last. He approached Nebraska again who had stood up and held out the cup. The omega took it and looked at the contents which had turned black and its smell was strong and powerful. She swallowed dryly and didn’t know why. Her husband’s hand rested on her lower back and watched her every move.
-If you don’t want to do this, don’t make yourself,” he said softly, but she only smiled slightly at him before raising the cup to her lips and taking three sips to drink the entire contents.
When she pulled it away her eyes were closed and she let go of the cup and it fell to the ground with a thud. The wolves became alert and a pulse of worry ran through them. Seconds later Nebraska slowly opened her eyelids.
-Nebraska,” Hades asked her, his back sweating with tension, “Are you all right?
She raised her hands and studied them.
-Nothing, I don’t feel anything,” she bowed her head blankly.
Layan looked at Hades and approached her, touching her forehead and concentrating.
-I can feel my b***d inside you, why is there no reaction?
-Maybe we have to wait,” Caesar approached the group, “Queen, we should wait, maybe the effects will come out a little later, your body has to detect what you have taken first,” he explained patiently.
Nebraska nodded again and turned her attention to Hades. Half an hour later they left the room after discussing the last organisational issues. In all that time she hadn’t felt any change in her body. Not even that the wound on her back had stopped bothering her.
Absolutely nothing. Perhaps she was wrong. César had told her that she had to wait, but time was something they didn’t have.
She walked beside her husband who had a hand on her shoulder and was talking to Layan. The other alphas had retreated in another direction. She wanted to pay attention to the conversation but a strong dizziness assaulted her and she only had time to move her lips.
-Hades, it’s all getting ne…gro,” if her husband hadn’t been watching her, she would have fallen to the ground in total unconsciousness.
Pain, a searing heat spreading through her body. Dry throat begging for more than just water. Her throbbing insides begging to be filled. Her skin felt like it was burning and sweating. Something inside her was stirring inside her. Repairing whatever might be damaged making it stronger, more alive. Her senses became more attentive, her brain more precise.
Nebraska’s eyes snapped open and the colours became violently saturated. She was perspiring profusely, her thighs clenched and she could only sit upright, facing the direction of that half-open door.
Hades had gone in to take a bath after staying with his she-wolf for a while without any change in her condition. Her eyes were closed and she was totally unconscious. He had called Caesar and he had only said that it was possibly because of the mixture of b***d in her body and that we had to wait. But he was going crazy with worry.
He hit the tiles cracking them. The thought of Nebraska leaving his side because of his bad decision was something he couldn’t live with. She had become an essential part of his life, and he had fallen in love like he never thought he would.
Fingers suddenly ran down his back followed by lips. Hades turned suddenly surprised that he hadn’t noticed that someone had come so close and he hadn’t detected it. To his surprise his she-wolf was standing in front of him. Her clothes wet from the shower and her hair in disarray. But something was wrong.
Hades then smelled it. A strong, sweet scent that could bring him to his knees and became more intense as she came closer and pushed him against the shower wall making him grunt at the not so gentle impact. Moving closer, the omega grabbed the back of his neck claiming his lips with a violence that was unlike her.
The alpha trembled at her touch. At what was happening. Because he never expected it to happen so fast and he didn’t know what it was because of the b***d he had taken.
He circled the omega’s body and pulled her to him, melting into her ecstatic, happy body even though he knew it wasn’t the right time, but….
Nebraska was in heat.
