Nebraska’s memory of her mate’s heat was when he attacked her because her daughter had taken her, before she was abducted by Layan. And she could only say that she had experienced real fear. Not the raw one like the one she suffered with Rudoc when he held her captive, but a wilder one that unnerved her.

And now she stood there, in front of the door to the very room she’d seen him leave, ready to be the one to enter. Leoxi and Siran were behind them. As males they knew the state they put themselves in and the damage it could cause to the females and more so Hades who was an alpha. Which was why they had refused from the start to let their queen take such a risk, though deep down they understood her.

-Queen, you can still take it back,” Siran said. Her she-wolf would take care of her children since they would be gone for at least four days. If she could hold out that long.

The alpha’s rut had started a few hours ago so they were in a cold sweat. Pheromones poured out from under the door and mainly enveloped Nebraska, as if calling to her.

-When a male is in heat he acts differently if he is bonded. Only his mate will give him relief and he will get very possessive,” Siran said holding his nose, “He is driving us out with his scent, he doesn’t want us around when his female is in his area.

Leoxi stepped back a little pale.

-I still don’t agree with this. They are endangering both of them. My brother’s heat is too strong.

-I’ll be fine,” Nebraska said without backing down, “I’m sure Hades won’t hurt me, as he has never hurt me before.

At these words, the two wolves swallowed hard and backed away even further.

-Queen, we’ll stay on the borders so the alpha can’t perceive our presence so close, if you need help please shout and we’ll go in to save you,” Siran stressed again the same speech for the tenth time.

-I’ll be fine Siran. Leoxi, trust me.

The commander made his face even more serious than it was.

-I trust you, I trust my brother blindly. But I don’t trust your instincts. These same instincts made him defend our mother when my father found us. I was really afraid he would hurt her or take us away from her. It was wartime after all-

Nebraska knew this story. And it was one that had really moved her. Despite being on opposite sides, her parents had fought for reunification and for their relationship to flourish. To this day Saisen and Celesia were a purely stable couple despite their very different characters.

Once Nebraska felt that both Leoxi and Siran had moved far enough away, she opened the door, stepped inside and closed it. She had to take a deep breath and concentrate so that her legs, which were beginning to shake, wouldn’t drop her to her knees.

The room was filled with a dense alpha pheromone that was turning her on more than anything else. She hadn’t even needed touch and already she felt wet and not like she normally did. A thin trickle of wetness ran down her thigh since she was only wearing a short nightgown. She was responding to her partner’s call.

She raised her head. There in the middle of the room was a huge iron bed, but it was what was on it that made him shiver. Those eyes were devouring her, silver so deep that they made her shudder and had no pupils.

Hades lay in the middle of that bed, stark naked, only a light sheet hiding the e******n he had at that moment, which was surely bigger than when he was not in heat. He was leaning back against the back of the bed and his hands on either side of his head were held firmly in place. Even he struggled to try to untie himself but was unable to do so. Siran and Leoxi had held him well.

-Hades,” she called out to him, testing his level of reasoning.

But all she received was a grunt from the alpha’s mouth. Mouth where his fangs rested fully unsheathed and a trickle of saliva ran down the edge of his mouth, given the level of arousal. The wild side of him was in total command. Dangerous.

Nebraska shivered. She still couldn’t believe she was going to do that. The alpha’s scent was drawing her in strongly and she found herself walking towards him almost hypnotised. Still she swallowed hard. She could still remember the strength of him, the way he’d held her, almost how he’d forced himself on her, but he was Hades after all and he’d turned her conscience and saved her from biting her right there against her will.

She smiled. Her wolf was special, and even though he was scary now, she felt safer than she had many times. So when she was beside the bed she looked up at her husband and gently, so as not to alarm him, swung her legs over his h**s and straddled him.

The thin fabric of the sheet was the only obstacle to them not touching body to body but the heat from both of them seeped through making them both m**n. Nebraska felt like she could lose control too. She was an omega after all and this meant she responded to her alpha with submission and pleasure.

But to her surprise Hades’ body stayed still, just breathing hard letting his chest rise hard. The she-wolf brought her hand to her husband’s cheek and cradled it.

-She spoke slowly, watching him rub against her palm as he closed his eyes.

She didn’t answer him but somehow she knew he was aware it was her. She cradled his cheek with her other hand and kissed his lips, softly. Studying her reaction but as her head parted Hades’ was quicker and his teeth caught her lower l*p and pulled her in, forcing the k**s. Nebraska m****d and suddenly felt overwhelmed. It wasn’t just the k**s that became wilder than she imagined, with Hades’ tongue claiming hers, it was the pheromones, they were making her dizzy. They were too strong.

-Wait- she managed to pull away a little to catch her breath only for her husband to divert his attention to her neck. The next thing she knew, Hades had buried his fangs deep in her neck.

Nebraska shuddered and something stirred in her abdomen and even lower. And unlike hurting it was another sensation that assaulted her. Especially when the fangs left her neck and Hades’ tongue began to clean the b***d there.

Definitely, she could tell, the rut of a wolf, no…the rut of an alpha was scary and she was just sinking into utter madness. And she knew this would only be the beginning.
