"If that's the case, then they've been setting up this trap for a while and waiting for you to walk right into it.

This means we can't go."

If both Dylan and Allen could see the problem, Suzy obviously could too.

But...

"I have to go. If I don't, my brother could be in danger."

The whole point of mentioning her brother in the recording was to threaten her with him.

And there was no way she could ignore that, especially now that his wife was newly pregnant.

Just as she was deep in thought, her phone rang. It was Simon.

Suzy quickly answered. "Simon, are you okay?"

But it wasn't Simon's voice on the other end-it was Evangeline.

"Suzy? What's wrong? You sound tense. Did something happen?"

Suzy forced herself to sound casual. "No, nothing. I just... missed my brother."

She used the excuse to shift the conversation. "But, Evangeline, did you call for something?"

"Last time, Simon asked me if I knew anything about that mysterious organization," Evangeline said over the line.

"I didn't, but I did some digging... and there's no such group operating within Xandria.

It might be a deliberate false lead-something they put out there just to throw you off."

At this point, it didn't even matter if the organization was real or not.

What mattered was that whoever was behind this had set their sights on her brother and his wife.

Which meant, whether it was a trap or not, she had no choice but to walk straight into it.

With that thought, Suzy made up her mind.

"Evangeline, Simon's been wanting to see Dad, right? Since you're not in the best condition to travel, I'll bring Dad over to visit you guys instead."

"No, Suzy, that's not necessary!" Evangeline quickly objected.

"I've been feeling much better lately. I was actually planning to wait a couple more days and see if I improved even more before heading back with Simon.

"Dad's not young anymore. Don't make him go through all that trouble. We'll come back to see you instead."

"It's fine,

She wasn't just worried about her brother and sister-in-law.

She was even more worried about their father.

That was why she had to bring him along.

After hanging up, Suzy turned to Dylan, who didn't look too happy.

"Are you feeling unwell?"

She assumed it was something physical, but as soon as he spoke, she realized otherwise.

"You're planning to leave me behind again, aren't you?"

"So that's what this is about? I thought you weren't feeling well!"

Suzy walked over, grinning mischievously as she pinched his cheek.

"Suzy, I know I'd just slow you down like this, but—"

Before he could finish, Suzy silenced him with a kiss.

Allen, standing off to the side, was speechless.

Come on. He was right there.

Could they at least pretend to have some shame?

Lately, Suzy had completely stopped caring about other people's existence.

It was like she had suddenly reverted to her lovestruck, hopeless romantic self all over again!

Dylan was just as caught off guard.

He hadn't expected Suzy to kiss him right in front of Allen.

His brain short-circuited for a full

few seconds, and when she finally pulled away, the delayed reaction hit his face turned bright red

Seeing him blush, Suzy chuckled. "Don't worry, sweetheart, wherever I go, I'll take

you with me."

Allen continued to stay quiet.

He was going to be sick.
