CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1000
On their way back to the Yaren Tribe, Nina and Nash rented a car and sat together in the back seat. Nina kept a close watch on Nash's condition, and fortunately, he seemed stable. However, they were suddenly stopped halfway through their journey.
Nash's first instinct was to suspect Dominic's involvement.
He pressed Nina down gently and said in a hoarse voice, "I'll get out and check. If things go south, have the driver keep going without stopping. Stick to our plan, but you need to stay in the tribe."
If Dominic was truly determined to ignore the international scrutiny, Nash would stay behind. As long as Nina and Orion were safe, that would be enough for him.
But Nina shook her head firmly. "You promised me, no matter what happens, you'd stay by my side. Now you want me to go on without you? Not a chance. Don't go back on your word, Nash."
Just as she finished speaking, a car pulled in front of them, followed by several others that kept their distance but stayed close enough to be intimidating.
Nash's expression darkened. But to his surprise, only one man got out of the lead car. Nash recognized him as one of Dominic's personal bodyguards. Nash quickly assessed him and no weapons were visible.
The bodyguard approached their car and stopped beside it, his voice clear and respectful. "Third Prince, the President has sent me to deliver the antidote."
This news did not bring much relief to Nash or Nina. Dominic had been so unyielding that even as they left, he had not mentioned giving them the antidote.
Now, suddenly, he sent a bodyguard with it? It smelled like a trap.
Seeing that the car door remained closed and Nash had not responded, the bodyguard added in a low voice, "Third Prince, the whole world is watching the President right now. If he intended to harm you, he would've done so in Salterra, and it wouldn't be just me standing here.
"If you're unsure, you can have the antidote tested," the bodyguard continued, noting their hesitation.
With that, he placed the small bottle of antidote on the ground and walked away without looking back.
After a moment of silence, Nash opened the car door and picked up the small white bottle. He could not understand why Dominic had changed his mind.
"Why the sudden change of heart? You work for him. You don't have to hide anything from me."
"I don't know why the President changed his mind. If you want answers, you can call him yourself. I have nothing more to say," the bodyguard replied.
He then walked away, leaving Nash holding the bottle tightly.
Nash hesitated briefly but then decided to call Dominic. The phone rang for a long time, and just as Nash was about to hang up, Dominic's stern voice came through. "What is it?"
By all accounts, Nash should not be calling him now. Nash pressed his lips together before speaking quietly, "I want to know why you changed your mind."
Dominic chuckled. "After everything Nina stirred up, do you think I could afford not to give you the antidote?
"Take care of yourselves," Dominic continued, his tone sharp. "And don't ever set foot on Salterra's soil again."
