Yvonne nodded. She knew that as long as she went along with whatever Joe wanted, he would not get mad at her.

Nervously and awkwardly, she pressed her lips to his, mimicking what he had done before by giving a small bite. But that was it, she did not know what else to do. Joe, in a great mood, pulled her close and let things escalate.

Afterward, he brought her a pill and a glass of water, watching as she swallowed it. Yvonne was curious, wondering why she had to take medicine after every encounter.

However, she was too scared to ask and just did as she was told. Once she finished, she obediently lay back down.

After Joe left the room, she snuck to the door and listened. She heard him standing outside for a while before he finally walked into his study. Relieved, she climbed back into bed and fell asleep.

The next day, after lunch, Joe took Yvonne to the hospital to discuss the surgery again. When they were told it could not proceed for the time being, Joe immediately suspected Nash's involvement. Enraged, he trashed the doctor's office, demanding that the surgery be scheduled immediately.

The terrified doctor, feeling pressured, called for a nurse to prepare. A nurse soon arrived and was taken aback by the chaotic scene. But after composing herself, she asked if she could take Yvonne to change clothes. "She can change right here. No tricks," Joe snarled.

Reluctantly, the nurse led Yvonne to a corner of the office. Yvonne resisted, backing into the corner, crying, "I don't want to go, I don't want to go anywhere!"

Irritated, Joe shouted, "Listen to me and get dressed!"

"Please, no!" Yvonne cried harder, terrified that Joe was angry enough to abandon her.

Joe, thinking Yvonne was trying to escape the surgery to leave him, snapped. He grabbed her by the throat, pressing her against the wall. "So, you're not behaving, huh? You really think I won't do something to you?" "I'm scared," Yvonne sobbed.

Ignoring her pleas, Joe shoved the doctor out of the room and began tearing at Yvonne's clothes. The doctor, now outside, immediately called the hospital director, who in turn contacted Nash.

Nash arrived quickly and, upon hearing that Joe and Yvonne were inside, tried to break down the door. Just as he was about to push through, the door swung open, and Joe dragged Yvonne out, smirking defiantly at Nash. "Are you really okay with letting her die?" Nash asked, trying to block their exit.

Joe laughed coldly. "If I don't act now, I'm sure you have something else planned for her, don't you?"

Nash sighed. "Yeah, I do. So, let's just cut to the chase. Nina wants to send Yvonne to live with her family. You're not going to stop that, are you?"

Joe let out a bitter chuckle, but before he could respond, he suddenly collapsed. Nash, caught off guard, took the opportunity to grab Yvonne. "You'll come with me now, okay?" Nash said gently.

Yvonne shook her head and clung to Joe's hand, refusing to leave.

Nash was at a loss. He could not force her, and she was not willing to go. Just then, Joe's test results came back, He had terminal stomach cancer.

When Nina arrived and learned about Joe's condition, she pressed him to let Yvonne go. With no other options left, Joe reluctantly agreed and Yvonne left with Nina.

That night, Yvonne dreamt of being hidden away by a masked figure.
