CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 1266
"Miss Lydia, why aren't you going in?"
Lydia jumped, startled by the voice of her colleague, Layla, who had appeared behind her.
Forcing a smile, she said, "It's nothing... Oh, actually, can you hand this in for me? Something just came up."
She handed the documents to Layla and, before she could respond, Lydia hurried away.
Feeling overwhelmed, Lydia rushed out of the building, her emotions tangled and heavy. She wandered aimlessly down the busy street, unsure of where to go.
The steady flow of cars and rushing business professionals only deepened her sense of disconnection. Nowhere felt right, and the world seemed to spin around her without a place for her to belong. Lost in thought, she felt utterly out of place. Just then, her phone rang.
Without thinking, she answered, and to her surprise, it was Mrs. Perez.
"Miss Lydia, do you have a moment?" Mrs. Perez's voice was calm, almost too casual. "If you're free, I'd like to meet you somewhere."
Fifteen minutes later, Lydia found herself standing outside the women's health clinic, frozen in disbelief. It was a quiet weekday, so there weren't many people in the waiting area.
The nurse quickly called her name. "Next, Lydia."
Lydia stood but hesitated, feeling uncertain.
Mrs. Perez, ever so "helpful," took her purse with a smile that barely masked her true feelings. "Go ahead, I'll hold onto your things for you."
Lydia couldn't shake the confusion. Why had Mrs. Perez suddenly brought her here? Why was her attitude toward Lydia so drastically different?
But in the end, she didn't ask any questions and complied.
The results came back quickly. The doctor glanced at the test results and smiled warmly, a smile Lydia had seen before. "Congratulations, you're pregnant."
Mrs. Perez's face twisted with a
strange mix of emotions. For a moment, she looked pleased, but
there was also a glint of

The doctor handed her the ultrasound. "See for yourself. You can already make out the shape of the baby. Everything looks healthy."
The undeniable evidence left Mrs. Perez silent, staring at the image.
On the way back, Mrs. Perez even offered to buy some supplements and insisted on coming over to help Lydia cook. But Lydia politely declined. "Mrs. Perez... you don't have to go to all this trouble," Lydia said carefully, trying to make sense of the sudden change in attitude.
It was unsettling. Someone who had once disliked her so openly was now acting as though they cared. Lydia didn't know how to process it.
Mrs. Perez aware of the
awkwardness, tried to smooth it over. "It's fine. Just make sure you get your housekeeper to prepare these for you. You need to take care of yourself."
Then she left, leaving Lydia standing at the door with two heavy bags of supplements.
Later that evening, Quincy came home. Noticing the bags in the living room, he asked casually, "Who brought these?"
Lydia hesitated for a moment. "Your mom. She took me to the doctor today."
Quincy stopped in his tracks, his brows furrowing instantly. He didn't want to speak poorly of his mother but couldn't hide his concern. 4f you're ever uncomfortable, it's okay to say no."
"I'm not uncomfortable," Lydia said, shaking her head.
She didn't want him to worry. Forcing a smile, she added, "Honestly, she's been kind to me today. Look, she even brought all this stuff for me."
Quincy glanced at the pile of supplements again, his frown easing slightly.
Lydia, however, couldn't focus on her meal, her thoughts swirling.
The next day, Mrs. Perez showed up at their house, unannounced.
Lydia's housekeeper, Mrs. Lucy, who opened the door was startled, asking, "And you are...?"
