CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 346
The more Nash doubted, the more flustered she became. She instinctively clenched her fists tighter and explained, "My parents know I like it, they always make it whenever I go back. I guess I've just had my fill of it. Why the sudden interest in my diet?"
Nash raised his gaze to her, gently smoothing her temple with his hand. "Nothing, just noticed you've been going through some changes lately. Just making sure you're alright.
"But Nina, don't keep things from me."
As she watched his caring gesture, feeling both intimacy and suspicion in his words, she could not help but feel a pang of anxiety.
She stared into his eyes, deep and inscrutable, as if he already knew what she was hiding.
No, that could not be it. If he knew, he would not react this way. He did not usually pay that much attention to Nina. Maybe he was just suspicious.
Putting on a forced smile, Nina said, "We commute to work together every day. What could I possibly hide from you? You're being paranoid."
"Remember that Linda from before?"
Bringing her up again made Nina's heart tighten. "Yes, I remember. Isn't she dead?"
"She's not that woman!"
Nash was certain, even if she was dead, that woman could not be her.
Was he explaining?
Nina thought that once Linda was gone, Nash would not bring up that woman from that night again.
After all, he would not suspect her. They had been married for three years without any intimacy. She had always kept her distance, and he knew she would not dare cross any boundaries.
Nina lowered her head. "Then I don't know."
Her response seemed indifferent, making his explanation seem unnecessary. That woman from that night did not matter anymore. He did not want to investigate further and make Nina overthink. His gaze shifted to Nina, and he kissed her forehead gently. "Tired, huh? Let's go to bed."
Today, he talked to her for a while, but it wasn't like before where he would pressure her or force intimacy. He just kissed her on the forehead and left it at that.
Nina was surprised by his restraint and just responded with a quiet "Hmm." Then she quietly lay down on the bed.
Nash watched Nina's silhouette, his brows furrowed, but he opted not to join her. It struck him that whether he slept beside her or not held little significance to her now.
After Nina drifted off to sleep, Nash left the room, his expression turning cold. In a subdued tone, he commanded, "Find out everything about the places Nina has visited before. No matter what it takes, I want to know what she's been up to!"
Previously, she had been eager to go to the hospital but changed her mind upon seeing him. Despite her explanation, he still harbored doubts about whether she was keeping something from him. Coupled with her altered eating habits and hints at wanting a divorce, he could not shake the feeling that something was amiss.
If she would not divulge the truth, he was determined to uncover it himself.
The next day, when Nina stepped out of the house, she saw a new car parked outside. It was a nice car, modest in appearance but certainly came with a hefty price tag, even more so than her car that was in the shop for repairs. Yet, she could not recall Nash owning a car like that, nor would he favor such a style.
Seeing Quincy waiting for her, she could not help but ask, "Did Mr. York get a new car? Seems like he has even changed his taste."
Quincy replied, "This one's for you. Since your car is under repair, Mr. York got you a new one. You'll be driving this to work from now on."
He handed the keys to Nina.
"For me?" Nina looked at the car, puzzled. "But I thought a car for grocery run would suffice. There's no need for such a nice car."
