CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 467
Could he have known all along?
She had heard Zoe mention it a few times before, but she had not given it much thought. Perhaps Nash had known all along and just never said anything. "Nina," Scott approached her and gently said, "Why don't you take a break? You look exhausted."
Nina had been standing for a long time and was starting to feel a pain in her back, but she wanted to wait for Zoe to come out.
She sat down nearby and said, "I want to wait until Aunt Zoe wakes up."
"I'll stay with you," Scott added.
Nina nodded at him.
Nash, with his tall frame leaning against the door frame, glanced over. The concern in Scott's eyes for Nina was almost palpable. Nina seemed to readily accept his kindness.
A surge of irritation swept through Nash. His gaze turned colder, and he deliberately kicked the chair next to him, creating a noise.
It was the chair Scott was sitting on. He looked up, and Nash said in a cold voice, "Sorry, didn't mean to kick it!"
"No problem," Scott responded kindly.
Nash, however, retorted, "This is the family waiting area. I'm curious, Mr. Lucas, aren't you busy with your company?"
Scott smiled and said, "I'm here with Nina. She's pregnant and wants to wait for Aunt Zoe to wake up. It's not very convenient for her to be alone, and I'll feel more at ease being here with her." "Aunt Zoe?" Nash was even more displeased, "Scott, when did my aunt become your aunt?"
Scott's eyes twinkled with amusement, a stark contrast to Nash's coldness. He always seemed more approachable. "Mr. York, don't you know? I'm friends with your aunt now. She is someone Nina respects, sc naturally, I respect her too."
Nash clenched his fists, resisting the urge to throw a punch.
"Who would have thought that the usually straightforward Mr. Lucas likes to take advantage of things? Nina calls her 'aunt' because Zoe is my aunt. What right do you have?"
Scott replied, "I call her what Nina calls her."
He said this as if he and Nina were already married.
Nina noticed Nash's anger and interjected, "This is a hospital. Aren't we here to wait for Aunt Zoe to wake up? Scott is being kind. Aunt Zoe had nowhere to go, and it was Scott who provided a place. Even for Aunt Zoe's sake, we should thank him, not be rude to him!"
Nash, seeing Nina defend Scott so vehemently, sneered, "Who is he to you? I barely said a word, and you're already defending him. Are you planning to marry him or something?"
Nina looked at him and said, "The future is uncertain. Maybe I will marry him."
Her words completely shut Nash down, making his anger flare even more.
His icy gaze fixed on Nina, as if he wanted to see what her heart was made of, to be able to say something like that.
They stared at each other, neither willing to back down, as if they might start fighting at any moment.
Just then, the operating room door opened.
Zoe was wheeled out.
Their gazes shifted, focusing on Zoe.
Nina held onto the stretcher, her eyes filled with worry as she looked at Zoe's pale face, noting the bandages covering her head and body.
She had never seen the usually lively and cheerful Zoe lying on a hospital bed like this.
It made her heart ache, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes.
"Who is the patient's family member?"
"I am!"
"I am!"
Nina and Nash answered quickly.
They glanced at each other, still technically a couple, but the situation was incredibly awkward, and they both looked away.
The doctor took one look at them and did not need to guess, "You two are married, right?"
