CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 911
However, he was certain of one thing. Only by staying by Nina's side could he ease his inner turmoil.
"Then let's go back together."
......
On the plane, Nina had a dream. In the dream, she saw the Pharaoh and Micah. She was in a lavishly decorated room, where the Pharaoh placed various jewels in front of her.
His smile was obvious, with a hint of flattery. "Nina, these are all for you. I can guarantee you financial freedom for the rest of your life. If this isn't enough, I can make you the leader of the Yaren tribe. How about that?"
Micah chimed in, "Nina, if you don't want the men from the Yaren tribe, I can replace you men from other countries. If you want children, I can arrange for others to bear them for you. As many as you want."
These words startled Nina awake. She was drenched in sweat, which immediately caught Wilfred's attention. He was about to hand her a tissue when Scott beat him to it. "Thank you," Nina said, accepting the tissue.
She leaned back in her seat, trying to calm her erratic breathing. She had been having frequent dreams, waking up drenched in sweat and feeling completely drained.
Wilfred opened a bottle of water and handed it to her. "Drink some water. Once we land, I'll prescribe some medicine for you."
Nina did not respond, feeling a heaviness in her chest. She had indeed been feeling oppressed and exhausted lately. However, she had many things to do once she returned to Birkham. Staring out the window, she knew she would not be able to fall back asleep. After the long flight, Quincy was there to pick her up. Scott's family also arrived to greet him. When they saw Scott, they embraced him tightly, tears streaming down their faces.
Nina waited a moment before approaching Scott. "Stay in touch. I'll head home first. Make sure to schedule a thorough check-up soon."
She was still concerned about Scott's health. Scott nodded, and they parted ways.
Quincy drove Nina back to Riverside Estate. He arranged for the helpers to take Scarlett and Wilfred to the guest rooms while Nina headed to her bedroom. The familiar decor and layout brought back a flood of memories. Every moment she had spent with Nash here came rushing back.
She remembered the effort she put into staying by Nash's side, including how his emotions changed when he found out about the child. It felt as if an invisible hand was choking her, making it hard to breathe and causing her heart to ache.
She was being overwhelmed by memories and engulfed in sorrow.
"Knock, knock!"
Just as Nina was on the verge of breaking down, there was a knock at the door. Quincy's voice called from outside, "Miss Nina, I had the helper make you a bowl of noodles. I brought it up for you. Please eat a little."
Quincy's thoughtfulness made it hard for Nina to refuse. She opened the door, and Quincy immediately noticed her swollen, red eyes.
As someone who had witnessed the evolution of Nina and Nash's relationship, he understood her pain. With Nash gone, even he felt a deep sorrow, let alone Nina, who had loved Nash so deeply.
Quincy hesitated before speaking in a low voice, "Miss Nina, while you were away, I've been managing York Corporation. Do you think I could take some time off now?"
He knew it was not the best time to ask, but keeping Nina busy might help distract her from her grief over Nash.
"Of course you can take a break, but I'm not the head of York Corporation," Nina replied with a smile.
But just as she finished speaking, a helper's urgent voice approached from a distance. "Mr. Quincy, Madam is here!"
