CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery -
Chapter 913
Otherwise, why would Sally have sent Miranda away and stayed at the York residence all these years?
Nina's lips curled into a smile. "I already had shares before. Now, I'm the largest shareholder of York Corporation. Whether I keep them or not is none of your business. Someone, see her out!"
At her command, several helpers stepped forward. Sally knew she could not take on all of them, so she turned to leave, but not before casting a venomous glare at Nina.
Today, the enmity between Sally and Nina was sealed. From now on, it would be a battle to the death.
After Sally left, Nina heard footsteps behind her. She turned and spoke seriously, "Quincy, arrange for some people to stay close to me. Also, schedule a high-level meeting at York Corporation in a few days."
Before his death, Nash had transferred all his assets to her. With his death now public and Sally's recent actions, it was clear that Sally would likely conspire with other shareholders and executives to create trouble for her. Nina did not care about the wealth, but she could not allow Sally to get her hands on it.
"Yes, Miss Nina. You haven't eaten any of the noodles. Shall I have the helpers prepare a fresh bowl?" Quincy asked respectfully as he approached Nina.
Nina shook her head. "Get some rest," she said, heading upstairs.
Watching her retreating figure, Quincy sighed deeply. If Nash were still here, the two of them would have been a formidable team in the business world. Life was unpredictable, filled with sudden changes and misfortunes. What a pity!
As Nina disappeared from view, her image lingered deeply in the minds of Wilfred and Scarlett. After a moment of silence, Scarlett asked quietly, "What are you planning?"
Wilfred remained silent for a moment before replying, "Her safety is my priority. Are you sure Ivy's child is still alive?"
To everyone else, he called her Nina, but to him, she was always Ivy.
Scarlett took a deep breath. "It's just a guess. She's holding on to this belief to keep going. You understand that better than I do."
Wilfred said nothing. The thought of the child was what kept Nina going, giving her a reason to live. It was something to sustain her through the long, painful years. Yet, the child would always be her lifelong regret. Wilfred pressed his lips together and asked hoarsely, "What do you think about Nash's death?"
Scarlett hesitated briefly before responding. "The dead cannot be brought back to life. In all things, while we must hold onto hope, we must also accept reality."
The conflict sparked by Seth and the Allied Forces was deliberately aimed at inciting war with Birkham. Nash, as the core leader of his unit, was a primary target.
And that river was notoriously treacherous and swift. Nash was severely injured when he fell in. Unless someone rescued him immediately, it was impossible for him to have survived on his own after so many days." While Scarlett did not want to accept Nash's death and had hoped he and Nina could live happily ever after, she knew they had to face reality.
Suddenly, Scarlett turned to Wilfred, frowning. "Why are you asking? Do you know something?"
