Rosalle didn’t have much to do, so she went to Spencer Manor early to accompany Rebecca andchat with her. Because she arrived early, her in–laws hadn’t arrived yet, and neither had Theodore.

Rosalie chatted and laughed with Rebecca in the hall. Even though she felt troubled inside, shekept the older woman laughing.

“Oh, child. You’re the only one who makes me happy. You’re as talkative as ever, and you’rebecoming increasingly cunning, like a fox,

Rebecca said as she patted her daughter–in–law’s hand affectionately.

Rosalie teased, “How could you say that, Grandma? Why did you call me a cunning fox? Hmph! I’mnot talking to you anymore.”

“You’re a little fox indeed, haha!”

Suddenly, Rebecca remembered something. “By the way, didn’t you graduate? I’ll arrange a job foryou at the company later. Tell me what kind of job you want.”

“No need, Grandma. I’ll replace a job myself. I don’t want to rely on family. I want to rely on my ownefforts.”

“Rose, I admire your independence. But since you have connections you can rely on, don’t wastethem. The world is complicated, and I don’t want you to suffer unnecessarily.”

Rebecca was very indulgent with Rosalie, but not with Theodore. The old woman was strict with hergrandson, making him work hard and setting many tough challenges for him.

“Grandma, I should suffer a bit and experience setbacks, so that I can appreciate what I achievethrough my efforts.”

Rebecca wanted to say something else, but Rosalie interrupted her, Grandma, you forget that whenI was interning while in university, I found a job myself. But that job only lasted for less than twomonths before you ruined it.”

“Well, that was…” Rebecca felt embarrassed. “I didn’t ruin your job on purpose. It was thecompany’s fault Those people were bullying you, I was just standing up for you.”

“Grandma, there will always be such people in a workplace. I can handle it. You’re too protective ofme.”

Back then, Rosalie was being scolded by her boss, who threw files at her. Coincidentally, Rebeccahad dropped by to see her daughter–in- law and witnessed the incident. Additionally, she overheardother staff gossiping about Rosalie, which made the old lady furious.

When people at the company realized who Rebecca was, they were repeatedly apologizing toRosalie in no time.

Because of that incident, Rosalie felt embarrassed to continue working there and had resigned.However, she still had to complete her internship. So, she had no choice but to intern at a companyunder SK Enterprise.

However, Rebecca was always concerned about Rosalie. She didn’t allow anyone to bully hergranddaughter–in–law, so everyone in the company treated her like royalty.

“Okay, I know I was wrong.”

In fact, Rebecca understood the reasoning behind it, but she just wanted to protect Rosalie. Shecouldn’t help but favor her granddaughter–in–law, even though she knew it wasn’t entirely fair.

After a while, Rebecca glanced at the time

“Why hasn’t Theo come

yet? This is really unreasonable.”

“Grandma, Theo is busy with work. It’s normal for him to be late.”

“Even if he’s busy, can’t he come an hour or two earlier? Moreover, why does he always have to doeverything himself? Why can’t he delegate tasks to his subordinates? A good leader should be ableto delegate.”

Rebecca was strict with Theodore, always replaceing fault with whatever he did. If he wasn’t busy,Rebecca would likely say he was irresponsible. Theodore had a heavy burden of responsibility, sohe needed constant prodding to improve and couldn’t afford to slack off. “Rose, why don’t you callTheo and ask when he’s coming?”

“Me? Call him?” Rosalie chuckled awkwardly. “Grandma, why don’t you call him? He’ll definitelycome right away if you do.”

Considering the current situation between Rosalie and Theodore, how could she talk to him?

“What’s wrong? You’re husband and wife. Isn’t it normal for you to call him?” Rebecca’s eyesflashed with suspicion. “Did you two have a fight?”

Rosalie quickly took out her phone. “No, Grandma. I’ll call him right away.”

Afraid that Rebecca would sense something was wrong, Rosalie reluctantly dialed Theodore’snumber.
