TEGAN'S

P.O.V

The shadows of the demons continued to lead me further and further into the depths of hell. Everything looked the exact same, there were no markings to indicate where I was going. If I wanted to escape alive, I would need someone like Trystan to lead the way. The walls were stone, with random bones between the cracks of each stone, as if shouting "HI WELCOME TO HELL". However, it wasn't as hot as you'd expect it to be. It felt like a normal summer's day, hot but not overbearing. Maybe because I wasn't further down, I'm not sure. Soon we were passing rows of doors numbered with dates. "What are those?" I asked, unsure what the dates meant.

"Those are the death dates of each person in hell. The day they die, they have to go into their death room." Trystan responded.

"So, everyone who dies on that day goes into one room?"

"Yes, however, each person experiences a different experience within each room. Would you like to see it?" Iblis asked as he came to a stop in front of the room with today's date.

"That's today," I pointed out.

"Indeed, you'll love it. It allows us to not only see how they died but also their punishment."

"Father's favorite thing. To show off his collection of tortured souls," Trystan said with a roll of his eyes.

Iblis then pushed a button which popped up a screen where he could swipe.

"I love technology in today's society. It makes replaceing people much easier than before. Ah, here we go." He said as he clicked a name. "What would you like to see first, the way they died or their punishment?"

The excitement in his voice was uneasy. Why would someone be so cheery about how someone died and how they're punished? It was gut-wrenching and sadistic.

"I don't need to see either option. Just get on with taking me where you are taking me." I said, not wanting to engage in his sick twisted desires.

"Where would the fun be in that?" He asked as he clicked the button that said punishment.

Suddenly, the screen came to life as if showing a movie. Except it displayed the last thing I ever expected it to.

"Wait, that's Jess. When did she die?" I asked, horrified.

"It's the room number, Tegan," Trystan responded in a bored tone.

I knew that. It just slipped my mind for a moment. How did Jess die today? Last, I knew she was in the Kingdom.

"I bet you're wondering why she died or even how she died, aren't you?" Iblis asked with a smile across his face. "But wait, her punishment hasn't even gotten to the good part yet!" He squealed in excitement. Fuck he was a lunatic.

I watched the screen as it displayed what appeared to be a memory of some sort.

"Is that Jess? Did she seriously decide to show her face after what she had done? NOBODY WANTS YOU HERE, YOU WHORE!" A girl screamed before slapping Jess across the face. "You fucked my boyfriend, got pregnant, and then dared to show back up after he told you to fuck off. WHY!?"

"I just wanted to talk."

"FUCK YOU! HE DOESN'T WANT YOU!" The girl screamed again as she hit Jess across the face once more. Her eyes began to switch back and forth. "What is wrong with your face? No wonder he told you to abort and never show your face again, you're hideous and creepy!" The girl screamed.

She was a human, she had no idea what was happening.

"HE WAS MY MATE!" Jess screamed as her hand morphed into a paw the moment she struck back. But instead, she slit the human's throat. Blood gushed from her gaping wound as she choked on her own blood.

"NO GODDESS NO, I DIDN'T MEAN TO, NO! DON'T LET HER DIE!" Jess screamed but it was too late, the girl was dead.

Suddenly, as if everything reset, it started from the beginning.

"Is that Jess?..."

Iblis hit the back button on the screen, interrupting the loop as it took us out of Jess's core memory before he looked back over at me.

"A continuous loop?"

"Of the one thing she regretted the most. Now she gets to live it over and over." He replied with a smile.

Jess was an awful person, she may even have deserved it, but somewhere inside of me, I felt bad for her.

"Would you like to see how she died?" He then asked next with more excitement.

"Not really, but I am sure you will show me anyway."

He then hit the screen, taking me to the moment her life ended.

"TELL ME WHAT I WANT TO KNOW OR YOUR NEXT. I HAVE NO USE FOR USELESS FUCKING MUTTS!"

The image of my mate appeared on the screen while screaming at her while she was chained to a chair. "I...I don't know."

"If you don't know, then I have no use for you," he said before snapping her neck.

Iblis then touched the screen, taking it to the main screen again.

What the fuck did I miss? What did Jess do for my mate to kill her? Not that I haven't thought about it myself on multiple occasions, but what happened? "Your little step-sister met the same fate just moments before. She is here too if you'd like to see her?" He asked, as his finger hovered over her name.

"No, I don't care," I replied, but deep down, I did.

I knew they were pieces of shit and most likely deserved their fate. I just wished I knew why, something had to have happened for Ezra to kill them both. A knot formed in the pit of my stomach at the mere thought. I needed to get out of here. It was like chaos was erupting in my absence.

"Fine, let's get on with it. I have matters to attend to anyway," Iblis said before moving forward. The shadow that was wrapped around my body, urged me to also move.

We walked for a bit before he stopped at a door with no number.

"Ahh come on! I don't want to fucking do this again!" Trystan hollered out as Iblis opened the door.

"Do what? What are we doing?" I asked as fear settled in my stomach.

"Just living your own personal hell. Look at it as an easy punishment for knocking me out and running," Iblis answered before shoving both Trystan and me inside. Once the door closed behind him, Trystan huffed out in anger.

"What is this place?" I asked, looking around at the padded black walls.

"It's what he said, our own personal hell. Except I have never been here with someone else, so I'm not sure what to expect." He replied while sitting on the padded ground. "We just sit in this padded room?"

"Yeah, except the loops haven't started. Just wait. You'll be begging to be released."

"I haven't done anything I regret," I said confidently.

"I have, but that's beside the point. It's not only something that we may regret. There is also fear. Fear is a major t*****e mechanism down here. Whatever we fear the most can also be displayed in a loop."

His words hit a little close to home. I knew that it was coming whether I wanted it to or not. The question was, what did I fear the most? Then there is also the question of whether I was prepared to face my fears. But in the same breathe, was I ready to share them with a stranger who wanted me dead not long ago?
