EZRA'S P.O.V

It took a lot of persuasion to get everyone on board. But at that point, we didn't have time to try and locate another door. The last thing we wanted was to possibly create another gateway that could be opened at any given time. Our only option at this point was to enter the one we were guarding. "How does one kill something that is already dead?" Darion asked, confused about how to send a demon back to hell.

I had no idea myself, so I looked over at Helena for the answer, just as everyone else was doing.

"Maybe it's best if we tackle the hunting after we get this gateway sealed," Helena replied to all of our stares.

"I agree, the last thing we need is to completely separate. Plus, it's likely that more demons will get out before we get the gate sealed." Fredrick said, agreeing with Helena. "Plus, it looks like we don't exactly know how to send them back to hell or how to even locate them. So how about we stick to tackling one task at a time?" Darion asked next. "They all have a point, Ez," Lucy then said, looking at me.

I just felt like if we weren't already trying to locate and send them back, then we were already failing Tegan. But I also understood where they stood in not wanting to separate at this time.

"Okay, then the new plan is to rescue Tegan and figure out how to close the gate. Once that is done, we will figure out how to send the demons back to hell, and then we will start hunting," I said, agreeing to their terms.

"I still don't feel confident about opening this door to allow more out," Helena admitted.

"We are out of options. We don't have the time to locate another gate, and you're losing energy by the minute. Let Lucy try to help from the inside." I said as I placed my hand on her shoulder reassuringly.

"They have a point, it's better to allow a few out now while they go inside than to allow all of them out because of your energy depleting. It's the best option we've got." Fredrick said, agreeing to what we wanted to do. "How will I know when to let y'all back out?" Helena asked, worried.

"How about we make up a special knock?" I suggested, feeling a tad dumb about the suggestion.

"A special knock, seriously?" Darion retorted while rolling his eyes.

"I don't see anybody else giving suggestions," I countered defensively.

"Fine, what will the knock be?" Helena then asked before speaking again. "Make sure to knock anywhere other than on the door so the other side doesn't hear it."

Right, duh. I should've been thinking about that. But my mind seems to be trapped thinking of only one thing.

"How about five taps for each letter of Tegan's name?" I asked.

"How will I differentiate them from any other taps?"

"What about tapping fast? Like 1-2, then again for 3-4, then followed by the 5th?" Lucy suggested next.

"We can do it three times. That way, it's a consistent pattern and you'll know for sure that it's us?" I then said.

"That sounds like a better idea. Now that we have a signal set. Are y'all ready?" She then asked, looking between Lucy and me.

"As ready as one can be under the circumstances," Lucy replied before looking over at me. "Are you ready?" She then asked.

I had absolutely no idea where to go once I was there, nor did I know what I was going to do. But one thing I knew for sure was that I was ready to rescue my mate from that place.

"Let's get it," I replied while looking over at the door that would once again open the gates of hell to yet again allow demons to enter the earth.

"Good luck," Helena said as she began to say the reversal spell in Latin while waving her hands around the door.

A bright light illuminated as the door busted open. Multiple shadows began to pour out from behind.

"HURRY, GET IN! I HAVE TO CLOSE IT!" Helena screamed as Lucy and I ran as fast as we could through the shadows to get inside.

Once we were both inside, the door slammed shut behind us.

"Well, this is not what I imagined hell to look like," Lucy said while looking around at all the stoned walls.

There was a long pathway that had an edge. I looked over to see what was below, but it was just a never-ending darkness.

"Well, that's just creepy," I said as I moved away from the edge quickly.

"The mystery of what's below the darkness," Lucy replied as she also moved away from the edge.

"So, what do we do now?" I asked, looking around in the dark.

"You follow the path to replace Tegan. And I remain here to try and help keep the stress off the door off of Helena's magic." Lucy replied as she looked back at the shadows banging against the door. "It's like they don't even care that we are here," I said.

"They just want out."

"I mean, I would too if I spent an eternity being tortured in goddess knows what kind of ways," I replied with a shrug.

"But they deserve to be here, that is why they were sent here to begin with," Lucy quickly said.

I'm just glad she wasn't pro-demon here. She did say they were screaming for help and she felt an urge to help them. I just pray that she doesn't give in to the screams of begging for freedom and she sticks to the idea that they deserve damnation. "Get going, the sooner you get Tegan, the sooner we can get out of here." She then said, looking back over to me.

I shook my head, agreeing as I made my way down the pathway. I looked back at Lucy one more time. Her eyes were flaming red as the shadows slowly backed away from the door. Damn, that was easier than I expected. I wonder what powers she was using against them. I'll have to ask later. For now, I need to push that thought aside while I focus on replaceing my mate.

I quickly fell into step as I made my way down the winding pathway. Soon, the walls turned into doors that displayed random dates. Weird, I wonder what they are?

I felt like I had been walking for an eternity. Do I scream out her name? Or do I just walk endlessly until I happen to stumble across her? What should I do?

"Someone looks lost." A wicked voice that sounded vaguely familiar said.

I quickly looked around but nobody was in sight. There was nowhere to hide, so where was this person?

"Hello, is someone there?" I asked while turning in circles looking for a face. Actually, I was just looking for something at that point. You never know who or rather what could be down here. It is hell after all.

"Looking for something, or rather, someone?" His voice then asked, but it was coming from all different directions, not allowing me to pinpoint an exact location.

"Who is there!?" I asked in a demanding voice as I stood still waiting for someone to emerge from the darkness, but they never did.

"YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE!" I suddenly heard the voice scream before a burst of air hit me so hard that it pushed me into the wall, knocking the breath out of me.

My surroundings started to become blurry as the figure of a man approached me, his face looking smug. The next thing I knew, his foot was coming down on my face, instantly turning everything around me into darkness.
