EZRA'S P.O.V

Once alone Tegan let out a relieved sigh.

"I guess she isn't on your favorites list." I said, stating the obvious.

"If one existed, she would be somewhere at the bottom." Tegan stated as she flopped down on the bed.

I got Elias out of the car seat, getting him changed while she let out another exasperated sigh.

"I thought this would be easier. But seeing her brought up unwanted feelings. I don't even know what to expect of seeing my actual brothers and father or even my wicked stepsister." She said as she leaned up on her arms to look at me.

"What they did to you won't get any easier to deal with, let alone confronting those feelings head on. It takes courage to do that."

"Not to them." She stated as she sat all the way up.

Elias began to fuss right on que after getting changed.

"I guess it's your turn now." I stated as I handed a very hungry baby over to Tegan.

She undid her shirt again as she pulled her b****t out. This time it didn't take me off guard, so the arousal didn't hit full force like it did in the car. I started to get Elias's pack and play set up as I put the bags away. I wasn't going to unpack them; I'd much rather live out the suitcase for four days than to put it all in drawers to just take it all out again.

Once Tegan was done, she looked at the clock. It read 6:25PM.

"Want to go explore with me?" She asked as she fixed her shirt.

"Sure, where are we going?" I asked curiously.

"Just to take a walk down memory lane. I'd rather not do it alone."

"I would be honored to take a walk down your memory lane." I said as we headed for the door.

We began walking down some zigzagged hallways until she stopped in front of a door. She took a deep breath before turning the doorknob then pushing it open. She let out a sigh as she entered. She walked aimlessly around the room before stopping near the windowsill. She pushed on the edge as the top broke free. She peeked down letting out another sigh this time sounding more relieved than sad.

"At least they didn't replace this." She said as she pulled a shoe box out.

"What's that?" I asked as I walked closer holding Elias in my arms.

"Just a keepsake box I managed to save over the years. Most of my stuff would get destroyed. I never had much I valued so I learned early on to hide it if it's important to me." She said as she opened the lid.

She pulled a ribbon from it as a smile crossed her face, then she pulled out some photos, and last a teddy bear that was barely hanging on by a thread.

"This was the last I had of my moms things." She said while tying the green ribbon in her hair.

"This ribbon was in my mom's hair the day she gave birth to me. Or at least that's what Helena had told me. And this here is Mr. Cuddles." She said lifting the worn-down teddy bear up.

"This was what my mom gave to Helena before she gave birth to me, telling her it was my first stuffed animal. Allie ripped it up once stating that it was supposed to be a rag doll and it needed to match me. I did what I could at the time to save it, but this was the best I could do." She said as a tear slid down her face. "Anyways, want to see some pictures of my mom?" She asked as a smile reappeared.

"I'd love nothing more." I said as I sat down beside her on the ground. She then started showing all she had collected over the years.

Most of them were of her mother smiling or laughing, her dad too. Her mom was a replica of herself. She was a site for sore eyes. No doubt where Tegan got her looks from. Sitting here going through her stuff made me feel closer to her than even before we married and mated. It felt like she was finally sharing a piece of herself with me.

"Why aren't you in this?" I asked as we came across a family photo of her father, brothers, stepmom, and stepsister.

"Oh, I wasn't allowed to partake in family pictures. Dad said he wouldn't frame a disgrace on his walls, let alone capture one." She said with a frown.

"Are there any pictures of you?" I asked with a hint of sadness in my voice.

"Oh yes, Helena made sure to capture it all. She always said my smile would light up a room. Helena has them, we can look at them when we get home if you want. But in these, I only have this one." She said as she pulled out a picture that was taped back together from being ripped in half.

It was an exhausted looking Marci holding the crying baby Tegan. Must've been taken right before she passed.

"That's a beautiful picture." I said, making her smile. "Why is it ripped apart?" I then asked as curiosity got the best of me.

"My father did it when my mom died. Helena saved the portion with me in it. When I had found the half with my mom, I showed it to her and she pulled out the other half, making it whole again." She responded.

I could feel her sadness through our bond, even though the bond was extremely weakened with the rejection, I could still feel her emotions as she could mine. I scooted over and wrapped my arm around her shoulder. She responded by laying her head on my own shoulder for a moment before looking up at me. We stared into each other's eyes for what seemed like forever. The sudden need to kiss her was overpowering. I leaned in as she leaned in too. I could feel her breath as it fanned my face. My heart was fluttering that this was going to happen. When I went in for the kiss a cough at the doorway interrupted us. We both looked over to a tall lanky blonde standing in the doorway, her hands on her hips.

"Allie." Tegan said as she scooted away from me.

"Mom sent me since you're late. How did I know you'd be here? Do you like what we've done with your room?" She asked.

I looked around the room. It was completely empty.

"There is nothing here." Tegan hissed out. A sudden burst of anger came in waves through our weakened bond.

"Exactly. So much better, don't you say?" Her sister then responded. What a bitch.

I opened my mouth to respond but Tegan's hand on my arm stopped me. Her eyes asked me not to.

"Allie, this is my husband. Alpha Ezra." Tegan said instead of engaging with her comment.

Allie's eyes looked over at me before a disgusting smile crossed her face.
