Chasing The Broken CEO -
Chapter 28
Bea and I have already finished making two pots when I felt the need to go to the restroom. Auntie let me use the restroom available inside their house. After peeing, I also checked myself in the mirror. I put my hair in a bun and wiped the sweats on my neck and forehead. I re-touched my makeup and then went out again.
I was smiling from ear to ear but it faded away the moment I saw Evan and Ash talking to Bea and her mother. Evan's eyes met mine. My lips formed a thin line. With forehead creasing, I walked towards them. "What are you guys doing here?" I asked them, irritated.
Evan's eyes bore at me. He looked a bit cranky while Ash on the other hand, was grinning like a professional devil.
"We got bored in the hotel so we went here to annoy you," said Ash which made me feel more irritated.
He's really getting into my nerves! Does it satisfy him to see me pissed off?
Evan immediately turned around to face his evil friend. I knew that he gave him a dagger look. I rolled my eyes at them. I noticed that Bea and her mother were kind of amused that these guys were here right now. Evan gazed back at me. His eyes were still the same, intense and unreadable. He cleared his throat and crossed his arms on his chest.
"I am just making sure that you're not going to Taw-Tawi, Risha." He stated.
What the hell? Is that even a joke? Ash laughed so hard while Evan remained serious. I scowled at both of them- both are good looking devils but Ash is way more irritating than Evan.
Good looking? Why am I even complimenting them? That's crazy!
"Miss Nathalie! Let's get back to work!" Bea called my attention.
I inhaled sharply and turned to her. She sat on the chair in front of the machine and put a new set of clay in it. That would be our third pot.
I looked at the two devils again.
"Just go away," I told them in a cold tone.
I turned my back on them and went to Bea. I sat beside her and we started the engine of the machine. I ignored the two guys even though I know that they didn't go and still watching us.
I shook my head and positioned my hands around the clay. I am trying to mold it slowly but surely.
"Is it easy?" Evan asked curiously. He walked towards us and slightly crouched to watch us thoroughly. Bea's lips parted when he smiled at her. I looked at Evan darkly. Is he trying to seduce a child now? "Uhm... It's... It's easy..." Bea answered shyly at him.
"Really? May I try?" he asked softly.
My brow furrowed. Evan smiled genuinely at Bea once again. Holy cow! For a moment, I envied Bea as Evan didn't smile to me the way he's smiling at the child. He normally grins or flashes a devilish smile at me, like most of the time! Bea nodded slowly and stood up so Evan can give this activity a try. She's like gushing in silence. I shook my head. I can't believe that Evan has tried to use his charm towards a child and it is working!
"You'll get some dirt if you try this," I warned him bitterly and continued what I am doing.
"I am fine with it, Risha."
"If you say so..." then I rolled my eyes at him.
I stopped what I am doing and let him try it for the first time. I am mad at him but seeing his elegant clothes made me worried. He would get mud on his sleeves for sure if he does this. He's wearing a gold watch, a dark blue polo with long sleeves, khaki pants and a pair of black shoes, like his usual outfit when reporting to work. Does he even know how to wear casual clothes? This is like a vacation for him for heaven's sake!
He slowly positioned his hands around the moving clay. His hands gracefully molded the clay as if he had done it before. I was surprised to see him smiling while doing it too, like he really likes this activity.
"You're doing it great, Sir!" Bea praised him and clapped her hands.
Evan chuckled and even dared to wink at Bea. I breathed out. Is he trying to entice the child now?
"It's my turn," I demanded and then put my hands around the moving clay too.
I shoved away his hands so I can do the work but he didn't stop from there. I gasped when I felt his hands on mine, slightly touching the clay.
"You want me to stop when I am not even done yet? That's kind of being too selfish, Risha." he said huskily.

I didn't understand what he meant by that but I felt my face heated in shame. It's like there is electricity that ran through my veins while his hands were touching mine.
I heard a clicking sound of camera. I turned to Ash and saw him taking some photos of us using his mobile phone. He's smiling widely like a lunatic!
"Oh, I'm sorry! I can't help it! You guys look so good together when though you're arguing. I am seeing hearts everywhere," he said and then he laughed a bit. "It's kind of sad to be a single."
I pulled my hands immediately and hid them at my back. I glanced at Evan. He's too busy molding the clay, like his life depends on it.
He glanced at me, our eyes met. I almost had a heart attack when he winked at me.
Damn it!

I sighed for the nth time as I continued to follow the two devils in front of me. This is really a bad idea. I should've stayed at Bea's. I don't understand why I listened to these two! Being with them makes me suffocated and irritated. I feel so annoyed by only seeing them breathing the same air I breathe.
Evan looked at me. His left hand was inside his pants pocket while the other one was holding a paper bag that has the first pot I created with Bea.
"Are we almost there?" Evan asked and then he glanced at the Tayid Light house situated from the upper part of the hill.
"Yes, we're almost there." I said coldly and walked past them.
"I am so tired as fuck, bro! Can we just take a rest for a minute or two?" I heard Ash complaining to Evan.
I rolled my eyes. Look who's complaining now? He's the one who nagged about going up here to see the light house personally! This was all Ash's idea and now he has the audacity to complain? What the hell! "Then rest and stay here if you want," said Evan at my back.
He walked with me in silence. I crossed my arms on my chest and gazed at the final road we have to pass through for us to see the light house. I sighed and looked at the blue ocean on the side of the green Marlboro hills. I still admire the place even though I am with this man.
It was around 4 o'clock in the afternoon when the three of us decided to leave Bea's place. We were like walking for almost an hour now but I don't feel tired at all because the scenic view of Basco is undeniably relaxing.

"What are you thinking?" Evan asked, breaking the silence between us.
I glanced his way before turning my gaze back to the far blue sea.
I don't get it. The way he stares at me, it's unbearable. It feels weird because of what happened earlier. I'm not sure why I am feeling this way but the way he touched my hand a while ago made me feel uncomfortable... seriously. "It's none of your business."
I heard him sigh. I looked around saw Ash who was sitting on the railings. He's too far from us now that he stopped walking to take a rest. What a weakling.
"Your parents already told me that you got mad because they wanted you to resign at your work for me," Evan opened up. "And if you think that I would ask you to do the same, you're wrong."
I gazed back at him, confused.
"What do you mean?"
Our eyes met. He's looking at me intently, indicating that I have to listen carefully at him. I swallowed hard as his intense and soulful eyes are trying to say something bigger to me that unfortunately I can't decipher.
"I will let you do the things that will make you happy and comfortable, Rish. I am not that bad to cage you once we're married." He uttered gently.
My lips parted. Alright, I did not expect that I will hear it from him. I thought he is the kind of man who would want to be served. I thought he's going to treat me like a maid once we get married. Now, what he just said gave me a sigh of relief.
“Are you trying to make me feel better so you can take me home?" I pouted my lips.
He laughed a bit and shook his head abruptly. He ran his fingers through his hair and then glanced at me carefully.
"You can trust my words, Risha. I meant it..." he added sincerely.
I inhaled heavily and cleared my throat. I wanted to speak but I don't know how to organize the thoughts in my head and so I decided to stay quiet.
It's kind of difficult to let it all out. I am not sure if he would understand me the way I want to be understood.
