Comeback Of The Adored Heiress -
Chapter 308
Chapter 308:
However, Rowan stayed quiet for quite some time. He bowed his head, concealing his face and making it hard to gauge his feelings.
At that moment, the live broadcast of this meeting was drawing a large audience. The dramatic fall of Gemond’s richest family had captured the public’s attention. Some viewers expressed regret, others delighted in their misfortune, and a few showed compassion.
The live stream quickly racked up millions of viewers.
“Is that really the chairman of Johns Group? He’s so handsome!”
“Yes, the Johns family certainly has good genes. They’re all quite striking. I’ve seen Dane before, and he really could pass for a celebrity.”
“It’s kind of sad to see this. Johns Group has always been a conscientious enterprise.”
“A truly conscientious enterprise wouldn’t engage in plagiarism! Again, don’t waste your sympathy on the rich. Have you forgotten how they exploit us?”
“No way! Johns Group is actually a decent company. I used to work there. It’s the best job I’ve ever had!”
“I agree. My mom is a cleaner at Johns Group. When she heard about the accusations, she just couldn’t believe it. She’s sure Johns Group has been set up.”
“Chapman Group framing Johns Group? If that’s true, then the Chapman Group is really something… But I’m not convinced it’s a setup.”
“Who cares? Since it has come to this, I wonder what Glenn will decide. No matter his choice, the Johns Group is doomed. They might as well hand it over to Chapman Group. It would be a shame to see such a great company go under.”
“Chapman Group is on the rise!”
“Are you all feeling pity for Johns Group? If Johns Group was truly honorable, they wouldn’t have stooped to plagiarism.”
“Plagiarism scum. They deserve to collapse!”
At that moment, Sarai and Courtney were also watching the live broadcast. They were both anxious, but above all, they were hopeful. They were poised to start anew. Who would have guessed that at this pivotal moment, Glenn would pass the decision to Rowan? Rowan was bound to relinquish Johns Group!
Soon, they would take control of Johns Group. They would become the new head of Johns Group. The prospect thrilled them both.
On the live stream, Rowan finally raised his head and faced the Chapman family. “I’ve made my decision. The company is yours.”
Jeffry briefly allowed his excitement to show, but then he sighed and said to Glenn, “Mr. Johns, you’ve really made a mistake. Wouldn’t it have been better to just manage your own company properly? Why have such malicious thoughts? Well, since you’ve made your choice, I won’t pursue legal action. I’ve brought the contract. Please sign it.”
Jeffry produced the contract. It was evident he had anticipated this moment and came fully prepared.
Rowan looked at Glenn, who showed no emotion. Rowan then lowered his head, picked up the pen, and readied himself to sign. At that instant, the tension was palpable for everyone watching. They were on the brink of witnessing the transfer of ownership of Ansport’s premier company.
Sarai gripped Courtney’s hand tightly, their eyes fixed on Rowan as his pen neared the paper.
“Hold on.” Glenn suddenly intervened, pulling Rowan’s hand back.
Everyone turned to Glenn, baffled, as he fixed his gaze on Jeffry. “Are you certain that we plagiarized your blueprints?”
“The evidence is right there!” Jeffry sneered. “Mr. Johns, you’ve seen it yourself. If we took this to court, you’d surely lose.”
“Oh?” Glenn smirked. “Are your blueprints really identical to my architectural plans?”
Confusion deepened among the onlookers as Glenn’s assistant brought forward a document and laid it on the table.
Glenn said, “These blueprints were officially filed with the state, so there’s no issue in showing them now. Go ahead, bring out your blueprints. Are they truly identical?”
Jeffry hesitated, his assurance faltering under Glenn’s confident demeanor. He instinctively looked at Rowan. Rowan, too, was taken aback, his eyes locked on Glenn. Those blueprints had come from the safe; how could there be discrepancies?
Noticing Rowan’s reaction, Jeffry quickly pulled up the blueprints on his phone for a side-by-side comparison. He had been convinced they were identical, but now, seeing them together, he realized… they were not the same!
Jeffry’s panic was palpable.
Phyllis and Jenna looked on, puzzled. Phyllis leaned in and whispered to Jeffry, “What’s the result of the comparison?”
Jeffry’s face went through a series of frustrated expressions. While the foundational elements were similar, the details varied significantly. Jeffry immediately turned to Rowan, whose expression was one of shock.
Jeffry quickly realized they had been duped. His eyes flared with anger. “This is impossible. You must have changed them later!”
“Jeffry Chapman, did you really think you could sue us just by obtaining those blueprints? Our design was registered long ago. Even if you possess an identical copy, it only shows that you copied our design!” Glenn’s voice was firm and cold.
Jeffry’s expression soured. “That’s not true. It’s not like that! Glenn, you must have set us up!”
The reporters were equally stunned, not anticipating such a twist.
“Wow, what just unfolded? Did Jeffry actually plagiarize?”
“I knew it. How could Johns Group ever be guilty of plagiarism? Something seemed off from the beginning. Did Jeffry really think he could outplay Glenn? Would Glenn really fall for such a basic scheme?”
“Did anyone catch the look Jeffry gave Rowan? It seems like there’s more to their story.”
