Chapter 312:

Sarai glared at Elaine with fiery hatred, her eyes sharp and cold. Elaine, normally gentle but now stirred by anger, replied with a biting smile, “How do you even have time to be here? Shouldn’t you be at the police station checking on Rowan?”

Sarai’s face darkened instantly. She felt an urge to lunge at Elaine and slap her, but she held back and instead walked inside the villa.

Elaine frowned. Sarai had the nerve to show up here to see Glenn after everything that had happened?

“Stop right there!” Elaine’s voice cut through the air with irritation. “How do you still have the nerve to show up at my home now? You’re not welcome!”

“Do you think you are in charge of the family?” Sarai sneered, continuing inside.

Elaine’s anger flared. She followed Sarai, grabbed her arm, and shoved her forcefully. “Get out! With all the disgraceful things your family has done, you still have the audacity to show up here? Leave!”

“You’re the one who should leave! If it hadn’t been for your family, we wouldn’t have ended up in this situation!” Sarai shot back, her own rage evident as she grabbed Elaine’s hair, and they began to fight.

The commotion drew attention, and Glenn rushed out, immediately pushing Sarai away and shielding Elaine in his arms.

Sarai nearly toppled over, her disheveled hair falling across her face and making her look utterly pitiful. She glanced at Elaine, who was being protected by Glenn, and suddenly burst into laughter. “Elaine, feeling pretty smug, aren’t you? You never cared about studying and only played around when you were a child, yet you ended up with the most outstanding man in Gemond! What does that make me, despite all my efforts?”

Elaine scowled at Sarai. “What are you trying to say?”

Glenn’s voice was icy. “My wife is the most exceptional person in the world, Sarai. Since you’re here, we might as well settle the score.”

From the doorway, Madisyn stepped forward, looking down at Sarai. “Courtney and Jenna plotted against me together, but I haven’t even told the police about Courtney’s involvement yet. Imagine what would happen to her if I did.”

Sarai’s face drained of color. “You’re talking nonsense. Courtney didn’t conspire with Jenna!”

“Oh, really?” Madisyn’s sneer was sharp. “Fortunately, I have evidence.”

Sarai’s face turned ashen as she faced the family. “You’ve driven us to this point. Are you satisfied now? Is it only when we’re completely destroyed that you’ll be happy?” she yelled, tears streaming down her face as she turned to Glenn. “Glenn, if your father knew how you’ve treated your brother, he wouldn’t stand for it!”

“If my father knew, he would deal with him severely,” Glenn replied, his tone cold and unfeeling.

Sarai’s anger and defiance flared. “If you hadn’t cut off our dividend, Rowan wouldn’t have done those things. He’s your only brother. Why don’t you care about him?”

Madisyn replied, “You think others should just put up with him when he’s in the wrong? Let me ask you—does your entire family think you should be spoiled?”

Sarai glared at Madisyn, still unwilling to acknowledge her fault. “We had already given up the Johns Group. What more did you want?”

“Rowan could have tried to take over the Johns Group if he were capable,” Madisyn said.

Sarai’s fury intensified. She felt like she could explode at any moment.

Glenn said icily, “Sarai, stop this madness. If you have time to argue, you should be reflecting on your actions!”

“Glenn, are you really going to abandon Rowan?” Sarai asked.

“The law will take care of it,” Glenn replied coldly.

Sarai felt a wave of dizziness, her frustration nearly overwhelming her. Not only had they failed to seize the Johns Group, but now they were mired in even deeper trouble. How was that fair?

Sarai’s voice dripped with bitterness. “If you don’t help him, I’ll replace someone to remarry me! You’ll be the one responsible for driving your brother to his doom!”

Was Sarai really threatening them now?

“Really?” Madisyn asked. “You might want to reconsider. Courtney will have a criminal record. Who would want to have a stepdaughter like that?”

“How dare you!” Sarai’s face flushed with rage. Confronted with this family, she was at a loss for words for a moment. Her hatred boiled over. “Glenn, you’ll regret this!” she spat before storming off.

“She’s completely lost it!” Dane muttered.

Glenn checked to make sure Elaine was okay, but Elaine quickly moved to hug Madisyn. “My dear, are you alright?”

“I’m fine, Mom,” Madisyn said, her previously sharp demeanor softening as she looked down with obedience.

“Sweetheart.” Elaine couldn’t contain her tears any longer, overcome with the joy of reuniting with her daughter. The news of Madisyn’s passing had left her feeling so devastated that she had contemplated ending her own life.

“We are having dinner. Mom, have you had dinner yet?” Madisyn asked gently.

“Not yet.”

“Then let’s have dinner together,” Madisyn said, guiding Elaine into the house.

The family was reunited once more.

Meanwhile, Waylon, who was abroad, learned that Madisyn was safe and urgently called Dane. Dane answered with irritation, “We’re having dinner. Please don’t disturb us.”

“Put me on speaker!” Waylon insisted eagerly. “I want to join you all for dinner!”
