Chapter 401:

Madisyn’s face was still sullen when she returned home. Just then, her phone rang—it was Susan.

“Madisyn, how’s your boyfriend? I noticed that the explosion of the Klein Group’s phone is all over the news.”

“Someone is behind it. But it’s fine,” Madisyn responded quietly.

“Really? It’s having a huge impact. Almost every site is talking about it,” Susan said anxiously. “I’m really worried about this situation. It’s getting out of hand. You should be cautious!”

Madisyn agreed and ended the call. She checked Twitter and found that the top trending topics were all about the Klein Group’s cellphones.

“It turns out that Corbett’s phones are better. They use foreign chips that have never malfunctioned.”

“I was so frightened that I immediately returned the phone from Howard. It’s terrifying; I don’t want my house to catch fire, too.”

“Same here. The Klein Group hasn’t said a word since the accident, and it has been such a long time. It is incredibly irresponsible! I feel really let down by them.”

“Did everyone just buy into this so easily? It seems odd to me. Chips are supposed to go through rigorous testing before they’re ever sold. So why did it suddenly explode? And what’s even stranger is that no one was home when it happened. Something doesn’t add up here; there is definitely something off about this whole situation.”

“Does someone have to die for this? You must be a diehard fan of Andrew, aren’t you?”

“I’m not a fan; I just don’t think it should be exaggerated. There’s no proof it was the phone that exploded. What if the phone exploded due to the fire in their home? That’s a possibility.”

“The victims claimed it was due to the phone, but you keep looking for another reason. When your phone explodes someday, you’ll understand.”

“Hasn’t the cause of the explosion been determined yet? It’s really frightening!”

Most netizens were irrational. Though some made smart observations, they were all dismissed. Corbett’s tactics were truly despicable, and Madisyn’s eyes were filled with anger.

“Madisyn, what’s wrong?” The boy approached her, looking curious.

He was an adorable child with innocent and intelligent eyes. Seeing him made Madisyn feel calmer. “Oh, nothing. Just make sure to go to bed early, okay? Kids shouldn’t stay up too late. I’ve got some things I need to take care of right now.”

“Madisyn, where are you going?” the boy asked, clearly anxious.

“I’m just next door. I’ll be back soon,” Madisyn assured him. The boy nodded and watched her leave.

Madisyn reached the gate of Andrew’s villa. It was dark, and Andrew had not returned yet. Was he still working?

Madisyn called him.

“Honey, do you hear me?” The voice came through, deep and magnetic, its rich tone almost soothing to the ear. There was nothing amiss with his voice; it was as captivating as ever.

“Yes,” Madisyn responded.

Andrew’s breathing became more noticeable. “What are you doing?” Madisyn asked with a smile.

“I’m missing you,” he said in a low and seductive tone.

“When will you be home?”

“In a while. Are you at home now?” Andrew suddenly had a realization. “Are you at my place?”

“Yes.”

“I’ll be right there.”

After Andrew ended the call, his assistant quickly asked, “Boss, are you heading back? There is still a meeting.”

“Have the vice president cover it,” Andrew replied immediately.

The assistant set about making the necessary arrangements.

As she waited for Andrew, Madisyn received a call from Elaine.

Elaine and Glenn were aware of Andrew’s situation and wanted to have dinner with them that evening. Madisyn agreed but hesitated before mentioning the little boy.

“Sure, bring him along,” Elaine said with a smile.

Madisyn went upstairs to get the boy and then told Andrew to come directly to her parents’ house. Elaine immediately took a liking to the little boy when she saw him.

“What a darling little boy!” Elaine said, lifting him up with a warm smile. “How old are you?”

“Madam, I’m four years old,” the boy replied in a charming tone. “And you’re so beautiful.”

“Aw! You’re so sweet for your age,” Elaine chuckled, cradling the little boy in her arms. “Would you like some snacks?”

As she munched on chips with the boy, their laughter filled the room, creating a joyful atmosphere. Glenn watched them and remarked, “Your mother is finally experiencing the joy of a child’s innocence.”

“Why do you say that? Didn’t Mom raise my brothers?” Madisyn asked.

“Of three brothers, Dane was exceptionally mischievous from a young age; Howard was adorable and also very clever, starting to study robotics and compete while still quite young. As for Waylon…” Glenn paused, but Madisyn understood. Waylon was likely quite mischievous as a child based on his current traits.
