Chapter 502:

“What? Jada lost?” someone exclaimed in disbelief. Jada had lost to Madisyn in the next few rounds, and everyone was surprised. They could hardly believe that Jada had lost, given how skilled she was at this game.

“I’ve won so many rounds, and it felt like too much. Fortunately, Madisyn won too.”

Everyone immediately understood the implication in Jada’s words. She had deliberately let Madisyn win. Probably, she thought Madisyn would feel dissatisfied with her winning so much money, so she wanted to give Madisyn a chance to win too. She was very thoughtful. Because of this, they couldn’t help but admire her even more. No wonder Jada was known as the most prominent young lady in Anspott. Indeed, she lived up to her reputation.

Jada felt everyone’s admiration, and a charming smile appeared on her face. Madisyn looked at her but didn’t say anything. They just continued playing cards.

It was true that Jada held back a bit in the previous rounds, thinking that letting Madisyn taste victory first would allow her to win more later. She believed she would still be the star player in the end.

But in the next round, she decided to stop holding back and played the game seriously, aiming to win. However, despite giving it her best, Madisyn still won.

Jada caught a glimpse of Madisyn’s cards, and beads of sweat appeared on her forehead. Was Madisyn really that lucky, or had she underestimated her?

However, she was confident she could beat Madisyn, reassuring herself that Madisyn’s win was likely a fluke. After all, she believed in her own ability to play this game.

Jada collected her thoughts and played the next round seriously. She was now fully focused, relying on her skill rather than leaving anything to chance.

This time, her moves were noticeably slower and more calculated than the previous rounds, weighing her decisions more carefully. She was sure she would win this time. But to her surprise, Madisyn laid down all the cards in her hand one after another, leaving her no room to counter. Madisyn had won five consecutive rounds, which was a major blow to Jada’s confidence.

Moreover, each round had high stakes, so Madisyn won back all the money she had previously lost.

“Oh my God! I didn’t expect Madisyn to be this good.”

“Madisyn, did you deliberately downplay your ability at the start?”

“Madisyn, you are incredible! You had already won before I could even fully understand the game.”

If Madisyn had won in one or two rounds, they might have thought she was just lucky. But winning five rounds consecutively made everyone realize that her victory was due to skill rather than luck. At this point, they genuinely admired her.

When Jada noticed the crowd’s attention shifting to Madisyn, she felt a little embarrassed. But she maintained a warm smile and looked at Andrew, saying, “Andrew is really good to Madisyn.”

The subtle implication in her words was clear. She wanted to suggest that Madisyn won effortlessly because of Andrew’s help.

Jada’s insinuation successfully planted doubt in the crowd’s minds. They had just admired Madisyn, thinking she had won on her own, but it turned out Andrew had something to do with it.

Wesley immediately said, “Our card game is fair and just. How can you ask for someone’s help when playing?”

As soon as he said this, he received a sharp look from Jada, which made him shut up.

“When Jada won, she relied on her own ability. When I asked for someone’s help, it’s a double standard?” Madisyn said. She seemed to be smiling, but her eyes were cold.

Jada quickly tried to defuse the tension. “Madisyn, take Wesley’s words to heart. You know he likes to joke around. We’re all here to have fun, so it doesn’t matter who wins or loses.”

Her calmness and generosity helped her win the favor of some people there.

Jada was good at using her innocent and beautiful appearance to deceive others, making it difficult for them to see through her schemes.

But behind her words, she subtly implied that Madisyn won because the other players did not take the game seriously.

“Since you don’t believe that Madisyn won on her own, why don’t you play again? I won’t join this time,” Andrew said in a deep, cold voice.

Jada hurriedly responded, “Oh, no, that’s not what I— The important thing is for everyone to have fun. Andrew, come on, let’s move to the next round.”

“Yes, everyone should have fun. But you guys continue playing without me,” Andrew insisted and quit the game.

Wesley didn’t refuse. “Okay, then we won’t hold back this time.”

Madisyn’s performance had been poor during the first few rounds, so he didn’t believe she would suddenly become so good in just a few minutes. He agreed with Jada that Andrew had been helping Madisyn. Now that Andrew was gone, he would show Madisyn who the real winner was.

Wesley focused on showcasing his true skills. The game took on a new level of intensity, and the atmosphere became charged. Everyone watched closely, barely daring to breathe.

The players were full of strategy in every card they played. Someone couldn’t help saying, “If we broadcast this live, we would definitely gain one hundred thousand viewers. This is just too intense.”

As the game continued, Wesley gradually realized he couldn’t win. Finally, he decided to assist Jada, deliberately passing his cards to her.

But despite their combined efforts, Madisyn still won in the end.

After such a thrilling game, the crowd applauded. They were filled with excitement and admiration for Madisyn. “Amazing! This is the most exciting card game I have ever seen. Madisyn is truly impressive!”

“Madisyn still won, even though Mr. Klein has quit the game. She has proven her real skill. She is indeed capable.”

“Madisyn is very smart. They say, ‘Like father, like daughter.'”
