Chapter 504:

“Can you help me put this on?” Madisyn asked with a smile.

Andrew’s heart instantly melted. He gently lifted her hand and, with all the care in the world, attempted to slip the ring onto her finger. Yet, despite the simplicity of the act, his hands trembled so much that he tried several times.

Madisyn couldn’t help but replace the situation somewhat amusing. After several attempts, Andrew finally succeeded, but by then, beads of sweat had formed on his forehead. Madisyn gently wiped his brow and teased, “It’s just a ring. Why are you so nervous?”

“You wouldn’t understand,” Andrew replied softly. Madisyn shrugged with a smile, then reached into her pocket and pulled out a delicate ring box.

“What’s that?” Andrew asked.

“Open it and have a look.”

Andrew opened the box and found a beautiful white ring inside. His surprise was evident as he looked up at Madisyn. “You already bought a ring?”

“I made this one myself. I didn’t expect us to think the same way. I crafted a handmade ring for you, too,” Madisyn said with a soft smile.

Andrew’s typically calm demeanor gave way to a rare burst of excitement, his face lighting up in a way Madisyn had seldom seen before.

“Then you should put it on me.”

Madisyn nodded and carefully took the ring, ready to slip it onto his finger. Though the ring was light, at that moment, it felt much heavier. Her hands trembled slightly, and she suddenly understood the emotion Andrew had just experienced.

After several tries, the ring finally slid into place. They placed their hands together, admiring the rings on their fingers, and couldn’t help but smile.

“This is our first matching pair of rings,” Andrew said softly, his eyes brimming with affection.

“Yes, it is,” Madisyn replied gently, her smile so radiant it seemed to outshine everything around them. Andrew, unable to resist any longer, pulled her into his arms and kissed her lips—the lips he had been yearning for day and night.

It was a tender and intimate night. They held each other in bed and drifted off to sleep after a long while.

The next day, when Madisyn woke up, Andrew was nowhere to be seen. She made her way to the living room and found a note neatly placed on the dining table.

“I’ve gone to work. There’s breakfast on the table. Don’t forget to eat it.”

On the table, there was toast, scrambled eggs, and a glass of milk—everything necessary for a nutritious breakfast.

As Madisyn ate her breakfast, she felt a profound sense of happiness. Today, she planned to take the day off and spend quality time with her family.

After breakfast, she headed to the next-door villa. Elaine and Glenn greeted her with warm smiles. “Madisyn, you’re here! Have you had breakfast?”

“Yes, I have. Mom and Dad, please go ahead and enjoy your breakfast.”

“Alright. You should rest today. Yesterday was exhausting,” Glenn said.

“Yes, I plan to rest today,” Madisyn replied with a smile. At that moment, footsteps echoed from the stairs, and soon, Waylon came bounding down.

He had spent the night mulling over the fact that his friend and his little sister were now together.

“Madisyn, when exactly did you and Andrew start dating?” he asked, his voice tinged with distress. He was the one who had introduced them, yet he felt like he was the last to know about their relationship.

Madisyn felt a touch of embarrassment and replied, “We’ve been together for a few months now. With you being so busy filming, we just hadn’t had the chance to tell you.”

A sense of neglect washed over him as he processed the news.

“I missed you so much,” Madisyn said warmly.

Waylon’s face immediately brightened, and he pulled her into a warm hug, laughing as he said, “I missed you too!”

Watching how Madisyn could effortlessly make Waylon happy with just a few words, Elaine shook her head with a knowing smile. Waylon clearly listened to Madisyn above all!

After lunch, Madisyn decided to visit Howard, with Waylon tagging along. “I wonder if Howard has met anyone suitable at work,” Waylon mused aloud.

Madisyn quickly said, “Waylon, don’t bring that up in front of him.”

“Why not?”

Madisyn felt momentarily speechless, concerned that Waylon’s carefree personality might lead him to accidentally say something that could unsettle Howard. She quickly gave him a brief rundown of the situation. Waylon was taken aback. So much had happened in the few months he had been away! Not only were Madisyn and Andrew together, but Howard had also had a girlfriend and gone through a breakup!

“What is this awful woman? How dare she mess with Howard?”

“She’s out of the picture now, and I don’t really know the details of what happened between them. It’s probably best if we stay out of it,” Madisyn said, shaking her head. Waylon calmed down, though the anger still simmered beneath the surface.

At Klein Group, in Howard’s office, Howard was immersed in work while Nalani busied herself making coffee for him.

Seeing the scene, Madisyn was astonished. Had Howard started dating Nalani? It made sense now why she had overheard people whispering about them earlier.

“Nalani has liked Mr. Johns for so long. Lately, the vibe between them seems different. Could they be together secretly?”

“I think they are a great match! They complement each other so well.”

When Howard saw Madisyn enter, his face brightened with a welcoming smile. He waved Nalani away with a gesture. “What brings you here today, Madisyn? Come here. I’ve got snacks and treats ready for you.”

“I didn’t have anything to do today, so I thought I’d come see you,” Madisyn said as she settled onto the sofa, her round eyes scanning the room. “Howard, you and Nalani…”

“We’re just friends,” Howard replied, his smile fading.

Waylon sat quietly beside Madisyn, too cautious to say a word for fear of upsetting Howard. He contentedly nibbled until, out of the blue, Howard swatted his hand away.

“You’ve gained so much weight, and you’re still munching on all these snacks. When you get back to filming, your agent will definitely put you on an intense weight-loss regimen again!” Howard said, then turned to Madisyn with a gentle smile. “But you’re too thin, Madisyn. You should eat more. These treats were specially prepared just for you. I hear girls love them.”

Waylon, who was feeling unsettled by the conversation, felt like he was just out of the office.
