“I was planning to decline, but the more you behave this way, the less I want to decline,” she said, then turned and walked away.

She had no desire to continue the conversation with Courtney.

Rowan continued, “We didn’t say anything when Kristine was around.

Now that she’s gone, why not let Courtney marry Andrew?”
