Chapter 540:

Everyone had their own ideas about what might be happening.

“Maybe Eleanor and her group deliberately stole something just to get arrested. I mean, once they’re at the station, they’re untouchable, right?”

“It’s clear that Edge Entertainment has no interest in protecting Eleanor and her group.”

“I’m still convinced Global Entertainment killed Kathy. Why else would Eleanor and the others do something illegal?”

“Honestly, I feel kind of bad for them. They’re in such a terrible spot.”

“Kathy’s the one I feel for the most. Global Entertainment, bring Kathy back to us!”

“It’s surprising that Eleanor and her group went to Edge Entertainment. After turning their backs on Global Entertainment, they were bound to seek protection somewhere. Edge Entertainment would be the obvious choice. That doesn’t automatically mean they’re undercover agents for Edge Entertainment.”

“Kathy! Where could she be?”

Everyone started chiming in with their thoughts, gradually shifting their opinions to view Edge Entertainment as innocent while blaming Global Entertainment.

At this crucial moment, Tatiana showed up.

She declared on Twitter, “I’ve worked with Global Entertainment for years, and this is the first time I’ve ever heard someone accuse them of killing anyone. Honestly, it’s ridiculous. Global Entertainment is a reputable company. As for Kathy, I’m certain Edge Entertainment is hiding her. I, Tatiana, swear right here—if Global Entertainment has hurt anyone, I’ll get down on my knees and apologize!”

Tatiana’s dramatic proclamation left the crowd shocked.

“Wow, she’s really that confident about this?”

“Well… I’m starting to think Global Entertainment might actually be innocent.”

“I’m getting so anxious. Where’s Kathy? Has anyone tracked her down yet?”

“I feel like, if Tatiana’s saying all this, there’s got to be nothing wrong with Global Entertainment, right?”

Tatiana alone managed to completely flip public opinion.

As soon as Madisyn noticed this, she instantly recognized it as Hector’s plan for Tatiana to make that statement.

She couldn’t deny that it worked, convincing the majority that Global Entertainment wasn’t guilty. Still, this turn of events was something Madisyn was pleased about.

“Madisyn,” Dane’s voice came through on the phone.

“Hey, what’s going on?”

“Are you alright?” Dane sounded concerned. “Hector’s tactics are concerning.”

“Don’t stress, Dane. I’ve got everything under control,” Madisyn replied with a smile.

Dane understood her meaning right away.

“The shifting circumstances have always been something Madisyn was managing.”

“You’re incredible, Madisyn. I feel much better,” Dane sighed in relief. “Susan’s been preparing for the big competition lately, and I’ve been accompanying her. Let’s grab dinner once it’s over.”

“Sounds good.”

After ending the call, Madisyn noticed a message from Andrew. “I’ll come get you after work. Let’s have dinner at the Golden Hotel tonight.”

The Golden Hotel, one of the most prestigious in Ansport, was known for its revolving overhead restaurant that offered breathtaking views of the city. When work was over, Madisyn headed downstairs and spotted Andrew’s car. Together, they drove to the Golden Hotel. Once they arrived, they went directly to the overhead restaurant. There weren’t many people, but most of the faces there were ones they recognized.

A few celebrities were even present. Only the top-tier crowd could afford to dine in such a place.

Madisyn and Andrew took a seat by the window, watching as the view slowly revolved outside. It wasn’t disorienting at all; in fact, it was quite relaxing. Madisyn enjoyed both the exquisite meal and the stunning panorama.

“Madisyn, with the New Year just around the corner, how about coming over to my home for a gathering after the holiday?” Andrew gazed at her softly, his captivating eyes twinkling with a trace of a smile.

“That sounds good,” Madisyn responded, catching on to his real intention. “We can talk about our engagement then.”

“Alright,” Andrew’s smile widened, looking even more pleased.

Madisyn was equally content, but out of the corner of her eye, she spotted someone. Tatiana had really risen through the ranks; she could now afford to dine at a place like this.

“Huh.” Tatiana spotted Madisyn and scoffed, glaring at her. “Your company’s about to go under, yet you’re still out enjoying yourself.”

“You’re about to lose it all, yet here you are eating,” Madisyn calmly sipped her water and gave her a cold look. “At least I’m not wrecking someone’s home.”

Tatiana’s face twisted in anger. “What did you just say? Who are you calling a homewrecker?”
