Chapter 575:

Elaine and Glenn turned their gazes toward Madisyn, whose cheeks were tinged with a flush of embarrassment.

“It was an accident,” she said.

“Alright, darling,” Andrew replied, his demeanor radiating affection and gentleness.

Elaine couldn’t resist chiming in, her voice laced with maternal warmth, “With Andrew, please be kind.”

Madisyn replied, “Mom, I know.”

Andrew chimed in respectfully, “Elaine, Madisyn treats me very well.”

Elaine nodded, seeing Andrew as both compliant and sensible. “You just love to spoil Madisyn. Remember, Madisyn, you must treat Andrew kindly and not take advantage of his good nature. Understand?”

Madisyn glanced at Andrew’s impeccable demeanor and felt a twinge of annoyance. He was clearly performing for her parents. When had she ever taken advantage of his good nature?

Yet, Madisyn acquiesced obediently.

Finally, the date for Madisyn and Andrew’s engagement was set.

Upon returning to her own villa, Madisyn gave Andrew a sharp pinch, to which he responded with wide-eyed innocence.

“Darling, what’s this?”

“Why did you have to act like such a good boy in front of my parents?” Madisyn poured out her dissatisfaction. Once her cherished child, she now felt her reputation was tarnished, as her mother seemed to believe she was bullying Andrew. It seemed he had single-handedly ruined her image.

Andrew wrapped his arms around her in a comforting embrace. “I absolutely didn’t mean to do that. I just wanted to marry you sooner.”

“Hmph.” Madisyn snorted coldly.

While almost everyone in the family was swept up in the joy of the upcoming celebrations, the atmosphere changed the next morning. Madisyn had barely awakened when her phone rang. It was Elaine.

“Madisyn, can you get in touch with Howard?” Elaine asked, worry evident in her tone.

Madisyn was confused. “What happened to Howard?”

“He and his girlfriend were supposed to be in his room last night. But when I went there this morning, they were gone. I called Howard, but he didn’t answer. Then I saw a note he left saying there’s no need to prepare for the engagement,” Elaine replied in a trembling voice.

Madisyn’s brows furrowed. She found the situation very strange.

Howard had always been gentle and sensible, not reckless. He was the type who wouldn’t suddenly disappear without a word.

Madisyn hurriedly took out her phone and called Howard. However, she was only answered by an automated female voice. She turned on her computer to track his location.

Her fingers flew over the keyboard as she tried to replace Howard’s last known location. Soon, she found him in the Crimson Strip. While she stared at the red dot on the screen, her heart skipped a beat.
