Yet, Esteban’s occasional sternness toward her had never been a facade. A pang of discomfort tugged at Susan’s heart, and she simply nodded in agreement.

With New Year’s Day approaching, the company was preparing to close for the holiday. Madisyn returned to Gemond with Elaine and Glenn. On New Year’s Day, Elaine and Glenn busied themselves in the kitchen, crafting a sumptuous feast.
