response "Sorry, we can't hire you."

She finally broke down. "Why? You have to give me a reason!"

The other party pushed up his glasses and sighed. "You must've faced similar issues elsewhere. We're all smart people here, and there are some things I can't say too clearly. In Joville, there are certain people you just can't offend." Bella understood instantly. "I see. Thank you."

After leaving the hospital, she pulled out Dominic's number and dialed. In the few seconds of waiting, her emotions shifted rapidly from fury to helplessness. She realized that her ties to Dominic and the Miller family were severed, and he was now forcing her to face the reality of

her situation.

When the call connected, she asked steadily, "Why are you making my life difficult? I know you have power, and you can do whatever you want. I know you can crush me as easily as squashing an ant. But do I not even have the right to survive? Dominic, I despise you!" On the other end, there was a long silence before his indifferent voice responded, "Yes, I am making your life difficult. I want you to understand that you can't survive without me."

With that, he hung up.

Despair washed over her like a cold wind, making breathing hard as she stood at the busy intersection. She clutched her chest and crouched down, refusing to cry.

He wanted her to give up, but she wouldn't. She would show him that she could thrive!

When she returned to the apartment that evening, Lia assumed she had found a job and even

bought a cake and gifts to celebrate. "When do you start working, babe?"

Bella slammed her fist into the couch cushion. "I haven't found a job! Dominic is targeting me, and now, no hospitals in Joville will hire me.

Lia quickly set the cake aside. "How could he do this? You two are done now, so what's his motive for treating you like this? Is he unwilling to let it go?"

Bella scoffed. "No, it's a different way to get back at me. I can take it. Without a stable job, I'll do tutoring instead. It's not perfect, but at least it'll keep me fed. I won't starve."

Lia hugged her, cheering her on. "That's right. You can survive somehow! If it comes down to it, I can support you. Let's go out to eat. I don't feel like cooking tonight."

That night, Bella posted her information on job search websites, anxiously awaiting a response. She was worried Dominic would somehow catch wind of her efforts and retaliate. After a few tense days, she finally received a job offer to teach piano. From the address given, she deduced that it was for a wealthy family, and the pay was decent.

After preparing thoroughly, she drove Lia's car to a well-known affluent area in Joville that was filled with notable figures. This only added to her nerves.

Upon arriving at the luxurious house, she rang the doorbell. A woman who looked like a housekeeper let her in, but instead of using the front entrance, they entered through a side door in the courtyard.

Reaching the second floor, where the piano room was, she met her student-a boy about 11 or 12 who looked a bit rebellious. His attitude toward the piano was dismissive as he randomly pressed the keys.

Bella approached and politely extended her hand. "Hello, I'm your piano teacher. My name is
