Crushed Affections (Dominic and Bella)
Chapter 370 Fighting with Your Boyfriend

Bella felt a deep fatigue spreading from her heart, draining her of the energy to deal with Dominic's relentless possessiveness. She decided to go along with his words. "Yes, I can't stand it anymore. That's why I don't want to keep this going. "If that's what you think, then fine. I regret ever getting involved with you. Isn't it better to just end it like this? Why are you doing this anyway? To make yourself miserable, or just to punish me?"

Her sharp, final words didn't lead to another heated argument. Instead, Dominic just turned and left, the sound of the front door slamming echoing painfully in her chest.

She had thought this was the outcome she wanted-no more entanglement, each of them going their own way. But that night, she couldn't sleep.

The next morning, she woke up with dark circles under her eyes. She stared blankly at her weary face in the mirror for a long time. And strangely, she felt a sense of relief.

People always said that after 25, women started to show signs of aging. Her fragile heart, like her face, couldn't take any more of this wear and tear. She didn't have time to waste on a man who would only lead her down a dead-end road. She quickly put on a face mask, managing to restore a bit of color. After getting ready to leave, she was surprised to run into Wesley in the hallway.

Unlike most people his age, Wesley didn't seem lazy or aimless. He was always up early and out the door.

Bella gave him a nod in greeting, though her mood was still sour. It showed on her face.

Wesley seemed to pick up on it. Once they were in the elevator, he asked, "You fought with your boyfriend, didn't you? I heard the door slam pretty hard when he left last night. Was it because of me?"

Bella shook her head. "What does a kid like you have to do with it? He and I have been fighting for a while now."

And after this... there probably wouldn't be any more fights.

Knowing Dominic's pride, he'd never come back after storming out like that. As long as she didn't reach out, it was truly over. She could feel it.

Wesley looked annoyed at her choice of words. "A kid? Please, I'm an adult. My first girlfriend was a year older than you."

Bella gave Wesley a wary look.

"Is he this bold? Most people are put off by age gaps, and his first girlfriend was that much older?" she thought.

Suddenly, Wesley leaned in close,

inhaling softly near her ear. Bella felt his breath and shivered, instinctively stepping back into the corner of the elevator. "What are you doing?" en Ebookex

Wesley's smile was roguish. "You smell nice."

Thankfully, the elevator reached the first floor just then, and Bella bolted out like she was escaping.

This kid might be young, but he was a natural flirt. He didn't make her heart race, exactly, but he definitely unsettled her.

She wasn't interested in younger guys, and just dealing with Dominic was exhausting enough.

Once Bella had left the building, she realized she should have gotten off at the basement level to head to the parking garage. But she didn't turn back.

The car had been a gift from Dominic, and now that things were likely over, it didn't feel right to keep driving it. She'd just leave it there for now.

When she arrived at the hospital, Ethan pulled her aside, looking like he had something to say but couldn't quite replace the words.

Already in a bad mood, Bella didn't have the patience to guess. "Just spit it out."

Ethan chose his words carefully. "Lana went to the department head to hand in her resignation, but he

didn't accept it. I was wonderingne

something to do with your boyfriend?"

Bella was caught off guard. That didn't seem likely. "No, Dominic just told Lana to stop giving me a hard time. She apologized, and that was the end of it. Her quitting has nothing to do with me."

Ethan's eyes held a glint of doubt. "Lana's family isn't well-off. This job is important to her, and she wouldn't give it up unless she had no choice..."
