Dark Indiscretions
Chapter 20

James hated waiting, but he was very good at it. In the meantime, his baby girl was fun to play with. She had fire. He loved that. She was just like him, and it made him proud. He wondered what he could do to torture her today. Maybe a little cutting until her mother showed up. Yes, that would do nicely.

Krista was floating in and out of consciousness. Where was her mother and her mates? Did they not have a plan yet? Good news was she could feel that Taz had calmed down. Bad news, her father was crazier than a bed bug. He was a real sick individual. No wonder people thought Mystics were insane. Some of them really were. If they didn’t get her out of here soon, she was going to have to get out herself. As her mind was racing a million miles a minute, she felt the now familiar hum of her father’s mind in her head.

She didn’t feel like playing with him today. Why couldn’t he just leave her the hell alone? She wished she knew a spell. At least she could try to slow him down. She couldn’t kill the asshole, but she wanted to make him hurt a bit. It would make her feel a whole lot better. She braced herself for his little sick games as she felt him getting closer, by shutting off her emotions as best she could.

“Well hello, sunshine. How are you feeling today? Did you miss Daddy?”

“You are such a fucking prick. Let me out of here. Or at least let me eat and shower, you psychopath.”

“Temper, temper, sweet pea. There’s no need for name-calling. You can eat and shower all in due time. For now let’s have a little fun, shall we?”

“Stay the hell away from me. I don’t want to play any games with you.”

“Don’t worry, honey. I’m sure you’re going to love my game. Now let’s see how fast you heal from this.”

Holy shit was she in trouble. He had a filet knife. This was going to hurt just a bit.

Jenny was warm on both sides. What the hell? Who turned the damn heat to inferno? She cracked her eyes open and immediately saw a naked man wrapped around her. She could only assume there was one behind her as well. Of course, her mates. Damn wolves were like little hot packs. She needed some air, but she was trapped. She tried to pry herself out from under them, but it wasn’t happening.

“Taylor, Jackson, get the hell off of me. I’m on fire and not in a good way.”

“Go back to bed,” Taylor mumbled.

All she got from Jackson was a grumbled growl. This was ridiculous. She was freaking sweating. Plus she needed to pee and they needed to come up with a plan to get her baby back before she became scarred beyond repair.

“Either get up and let me out or I’m going to pee on both of you!”

Ha! That got them rolling over quick. In fact, Taylor rolled right off of the bed. Jenny politely stepped over him on her way to the bathroom. She heard Jackson asking him if he was okay and Taylor’s pitiful groaned answer. Big baby. Once Jenny was in the bathroom she peed, showered, and washed her face. Once done, she stepped back into her room to get dressed and to get her mates dressed. Her mates. She still couldn’t believe it. It was just too surreal.

The sight before her made her wish she had a camera. They were curled around each other and fast asleep. She hated to wake them, but they needed to get a move on. There would be plenty time for rest when Krista was back where she belonged and they killed her uncle for good. There had to be someone she could talk to who knew how to kill someone who didn’t want to stay dead.

“Rise and shine, boys. We have things to do and not a lot of time to do it. If I know my uncle, he’s not going to wait for long. We have to come up with a plan, replace him, and bring Krista home.”

“It’s morning already? Damn, I didn’t mean for us to sleep this long. I’m surprised Taz didn’t wake us,” Jackson said.

“Honey, I’m sure Nathan and Taz fell asleep as well,” Taylor said. “We all had a long day. We would have been no use without a full day’s rest. We are up now, and we can get things done. Let’s shower and dress. Jenny you wouldn’t happen to have clothes that are clean?”

“No, but let me cast a quick cleaning spell on your clothes,” said Jenny.

Jenny made sure the guys’ clothes were clean as they made their way to the shower. She fixed the bed, set the clothes on top, and then made her way downstairs to get some food and replace Krista’s mates. She found them in the guest room, asleep. She woke them and told them to meet everyone downstairs when they finished so they could figure out how to get Krista back. She cleaned their clothes as well and put them on the bed.

Once downstairs, Jenny whipped up a quick breakfast in the microwave and set the table. Several minutes later she had everything set out and the guys had started coming downstairs.

“Jenny, this looks amazing,” Nathan remarked.

“Thank you. We are going to need fuel to get through these next couple of days so we can get Krista back and kill James. Did you call your alpha yet? We are probably going to need all the help we can get. I’m going to have to replace a Mystic who may know how to kill my uncle for good,” Jenny said.

“No, I haven’t yet. Once I eat I will excuse myself and call her.”

“Jackson, Taylor, and I will put our heads together and figure out which wolves wouldn’t mind helping as well,” Taz threw in.

“Awesome. Let’s eat so we can get a plan made,” said Jenny.

As everyone ate, Jenny couldn’t help but feel nervous. Krista was strong willed, but Jenny was still afraid for her. She was also afraid for herself and everyone who would try to go against James. She had no idea what he was capable of. He had managed to fool her once. There was no telling what he was thinking this time. She just hoped she didn’t get anyone killed. Most of all, her daughter or their mates.
