Chapter 57 Magnanimous Francesca

Everyone knew how much Anna adored children. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have showered Lukas and Luna with so much love and affection from the very beginning.

Since the relationship between Fergus and Yoel had been proven, her affection for him would only grow. Linda openly set a trap in front of Anna, and Anna had no choice but to jump in.

After Linda left, Cynthia also felt a bit awkward. She nodded at Anna and George. “I have some things to do, so I’ll be leaving now, Mr. Zabielski, Mrs. Zabielski.”

Yoel’s heart tightened, and he stopped her. “Let me send you

out.”

Cynthia glanced at Fergus, whose eyes were filled with anticipation. However, she still rejected him. “It wasn’t easy to replace the kid, so you should spend some time with him.”

Yoel opened his mouth but didn’t know what to say to keep Cynthia from leaving. All he could do was watch her walk away helplessly.

To Cynthia’s surprise, Linda, who should have left long ago, was standing at the door waiting for her.

Upon seeing Cynthia all by herself, Linda’s smile grew even wider. “Are you angry?”

Cynthia paused in her steps, casting a casual glance at Linda. “Why should I be angry? Just because he unknowingly gained a son?”

She had two children of her own. Hence, she wouldn’t dislike Yoel for that reason, let alone get angry about it.

Linda’s smile faded a bit. “You should know Yoel and I have shared many wonderful moments in the past. Now that we have a child to bridge the gap between us, it’s only a matter of time before we get back together.”

In that instant, her gaze turned fierce. “The only one who‘ ‘ll become Mrs. Zabielski is me!”

Faced with her provocation, Cynthia responded calmly, “If you can persuade Yoel, I have no objections.”

After saying that, she walked past Linda and got into the car, completely ignoring Linda’s vicious glare.

After Cynthia returned home, Braxton noticed that her expression seemed off. Immediately, he asked with concern, “Are you all right?”

Cynthia shook her head. “I’m fine. Just tired, that’s all.”

When she saw Yoel’s expression earlier, she suddenly wondered if Colton would have the same attitude if he discovered that she had secretly given birth to their child.

“Mommy? You haven’t told me a bedtime story yet!” Just as Cynthia was lost in thought, Luna quietly sneaked in and gently nestled in her embrace.

Holding her daughter’s soft body, Cynthia suddenly let out a self–mocking laugh. I’m not Linda, and I’ll never use a child to try to get back together with Colton. Why should I overreact to something that is insignificant? From the moment I risked my life to bring my two children into the world, they belong to me. No one can take them away.

Cynthia glanced at Lukas standing at the door and patted Luna’s head. “I’ll be right there.”

In the middle of the night, Cynthia was awakened by a phone call. “Excuse

me, are you Ms, Shelly? Mr. Zabielski got drunk at our bar and has been calling your name non–stop…”

Cynthia hesitated for a moment, then sighed softly. “I’ll be right there.”

By the time she arrived at the bar, Yoel had already collapsed on the table. To her surprise, Linda was sitting beside him.

Linda seemed to be constantly persuading Yoel to leave with her, but Yoel stubbornly clung to the table, refusing to budge even half a step.

Upon seeing Cynthia, Yoel’s drunken eyes suddenly brightened: “You’re here!”

Linda’s face suddenly darkened.

Cynthia didn’t pay attention to her and quickly walked towards Yoel. “How did you end up drinking like this?”

Yoel acted as if he hadn’t heard anything. He just tightly held her hand, unwilling to let go for a long time.

“I heard that Ms. Shelly is still entangled with her ex–husband. What makes you think you deserve his special treatment?!” With jealousy, Linda looked at their tightly clasped hands. “He’s just attracted to your appearance, that’s all.”

Cynthia sneered, “Really? Thank you for the compliment.”

“You!” Linda stepped forward and grabbed Yoel’s hand. “He is the father of my child. You cannot take him away!”

Her voice didn’t quiet down even a little, which attracted the attention of many people around her. When Cynthia saw someone secretly raising their phone, her eyebrows tightly furrowed.

Just when Linda thought Cynthia would back down, the latter suddenly raised her voice and said, “I’ll pay the tab tonight. Everyone, please enjoy the drinks.”

The bar fell silent for a moment before suddenly erupting in cheers and excitement.

The bar manager was quite tactful. With a few subtle glances, he signaled several men to block Linda’s path “unintentionally,” preventing her from causing further trouble.

Cynthia tossed a card to the manager. “Consider the extra amount as your tip.”

Upon taking a look, the manager immediately beamed with joy and escorted Cynthia out. “Ms. Shelly, we welcome you to visit again next time. Rest assured. There won’t be any more troublemakers bothering you.”

Cynthia hummed in agreement and left the bar with Yoel.

As soon as they stepped out of the bar, Cynthia shook off Yoel’s hand. “Just walk on your own.”

Yoel, who was originally stumbling, suddenly regained his composure. He looked at Cynthia with a hint of surprise and asked, “How did you know…”

“I didn’t know before, but now I do,” Cynthia said coldly, glancing at him.

A smile appeared on Yoel’s face. I didn’t expect she pulled a fast one on me.

“I just wanted to know if you would still pick me up. I didn’t expect Linda to come…” Yoel explained awkwardly, “After what happened during the day, I…”

He was so worried that Cynthia would dislike him and even give up on

him because of that, so he resorted to such a desperate measure.

Cynthia couldn’t help but feel helpless. “You know my situation. Would you really look down on me?”

“But I…” Yoel opened his mouth, fully aware of his deep–rooted feelings for Cynthia. At the same time, he knew she didn’t have much affection for him.

Cynthia could guess what he wanted to say and earnestly replied, “I’m not a casual person. However, if I choose someone, I will accept their past and history. It’s just that I…”

“Enough, there’s no need to say more.” Yoel knew what she wanted to say, but he still sighed in relief. He reached out to embrace Cynthia but was interrupted by a cold, deep male voice. “What are you two doing?”

It turned out to be Colton.

At that moment, Colton’s collar was slightly loose, clearly having just emerged from a social engagement. His eyes were fixed intently on the movements of the two people.

Cynthia looked back indifferently. “What does what we’re doing have to do with you, Mr. Zeller?”

“This is normal behavior between engaged couples. If you don’t understand, you can go back and practice with Elsa; Mr. Zeller.” Yoel put away all his uneasiness and looked at Colton with a provocative gaze.

Colton sneered, “Unmarried couple? I heard that you recently gained a son, Mr. Zabielski. Congratulations.”

Yoel’s face changed instantly. I knew Linda’s situation was definitely related to Colton!

He stormed forward angrily. “It was you! You arranged for Linda to show up!”

The atmosphere between the two was tense, but Colton simply said indifferently, “I just provided a little help. After all, you don’t have a spotless history to begin with, Mr. Zabielski.”

Yoel couldn’t help but laugh and said to Colton, “Aren’t you about to become a father too, Mr. Zeller? We’re in the same boat. No, wait, at least she’s willing to forgive me.”

Colton’s expression was unreadable as h

e gazed at Cynthia. “Ms. Shelley is truly magnanimous.”
