Chapter 62 First Intimate Interaction
Upon hearing that, Phillip found himself wavering again. He turned to Cynthia and asked, “Is this really how things are?”
Yoel gently squeezed Cynthia’s shoulder. Thinking of her children, Cynthia had no choice. but to go with the flow.
Phillip was greatly disappointed.
He never imagined that this would be the outcome after all the trouble he went through.
“Well, congratulations to both of you.” Phillip managed a strained smile, sighing toward Cynthia. “It was the Zeller family who wronged you. Now that you’ve found your own happiness, I can rest easy.”
Observing Phillip’s unmistakable look of defeat, Cynthia was reminded of his past kindness. toward her. She almost revealed the truth.
However, when she thought of Elsa and the child in her womb, she suppressed those thoughts.
After leaving the café, Phillip dialed Anna’s number. “I heard you have grandchildren now? Congratulations.”
At that moment, Phillip still clung to a sliver of hope, yearning for Anna to refute the news about the children..
However, Anna had long known Lukas and Luna’s true identities, and she was well aware of the entanglements between Colton and Cynthia over the years. She responded immediately, “They actually told you this news? Didn’t they agree to keep it a secret for the time being?”
Phillip’s last hope was shattered. After uttering a few words, he hung up the phone.
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He finally decided to call Colton again, giving him a piece of his mind before he finally went home.
Anna breathed a sigh of relief, only to turn around and replace Fergus standing not far watching her. She was taken aback. “Why are you standing here? Just now-
away,
“Grandma, I came to invite you to have some fruit,” Fergus said with a smile. “What just happened?”
Anna thought. He’s calm and unfazed. It seems he didn’t hear the phone call earlier.
After a moment of hesitation, Anna didn’t offer any explanation. Instead, she took Fergus’s

hand and said, “All right. Let’s go have some fruit together.”
Inside the café, Yoel looked guiltily at Cynthia. “I took advantage of your vulnerability this time. If you’re upset about it, I—”
“I know you were defending me,” Cynthia said. She also understood that replaceing a “father” for the two children was the most appropriate course of action for the present situation. She turned to Yoel. “But what about Mr. and Mrs. Zabielski?”
“Don’t worry. My parents are very wise. They won’t say anything inappropriate,” Yoel reassured, waving his hand dismissively. The gloomy mood that had recently been cast by Lynda’s appearance finally seemed to lift a bit.
Left with no other choice, Cynthia could only nod. “Thank you.”
“Never thank me. I don’t need it,” Yoel said, his gaze heavy as he looked at Cynthia. The intensity of his emotions made her instinctively look away.
After heeding Cynthia’s advice, Yoel returned to the Zabielski residence again.
Unlike the last time, when Fergus saw Yoel this time, he not only took the initiative to greet him but even went so far as to ask, “You’ve been working hard. Are. you tired?”
Yoel felt somewhat taken aback by the unexpected friendly greeting he received.
He stiffly reached out his hand, patting Fergus’s head. “So, are you getting used to things here?”
The first intimate encounter between father and son left Fergus stunned.
He reflected on the countless times Lynda had spoken to him. It all seemed to be a lie.
Fergus opened his mouth, intending to say something to Yoel. But just at that moment, a woman’s voice interrupted his attempt to speak. “It seems you two are getting along better than I imagined.”
The newcomer turned out to be Lynda.
The moment Yoel saw her, his brows furrowed. “What brings you here?”
“My son is here, so why shouldn’t I be?” Lynda said with a smile, waving at Fergus. Fergus’s expression shifted slightly, but he still walked over to her.
At that moment, Anna also stepped out. Her expression changed instantly upon seeing Lynda leading Fergus away. “Isn’t it not time yet? You can’t take the child away!”
Lynda neither agreed nor disagreed. She simply said to Anna, “Fergus is my son. Can’t I have
