Her gaze lightly swept over him before she turned to get into her own car, only to replace it completely blocked by his.
“What are you doing?” Cynthia asked, clutching the keys in her hand as she turned to look at Colton.
Colton steadily approached Cynthia, his gaze falling on her. “We haven’t agreement about the children.”

Already harboring resentment in her heart, Cynthia sneered, “I’ve made it abundantly clear that the children are mine alone. You have no connection to them.”
Colton propped one hand against the door, trapping Cynthia between himself and the car. His eyes were full of mockery as he said, “The children carry half of my genes. How can they have no connection to me?”
“Why are you so concerned about my children when you already have a fiancée? I’m different from your first crush. I don’t want to be misunderstood, nor do I wish to be a homewrecker,” Cynthia said with a hint of sarcasm,
The expression on Colton’s face darkened.
Cynthia simply thought that he didn’t like her demeaning Elsa. The mockery in her eyes grew increasingly intense, and she stepped on Colton’s shoe.
As he stepped away in pain, Cynthia seized the opportunity to slip into the car and shut the door.
Just as she was about to drive off, a call came in from Braxton. “A gentleman claiming to be the children’s great–grandfather has arrived at the hospital entrance with some people and belongings. Perhaps…”
Cynthia felt somewhat helpless. She hadn’t expected that Phillip would act so swiftly. “I’ll be there soon.” She rolled down the car window, looking at Colton. “Grandpa has gone to the hospital. He said he’s visiting the children.”
Colton’s brows furrowed slightly as he fixed his gaze on her. “Cynthia, you can’t hide forever.”
Cynthia did not respond to that and merely asked indifferently, “Can we leave now?”
The two of them drove to the hospital. As they neared the entrance to the ward, they could hear the faint sound of laughter from within. “Great–grandpa, what happened next?”
Cynthia paused slightly in her steps, discreetly peering inside from the doorway.

Phillip was seen busily engaged with two children, fiddling with something as he simultaneously told them a story.
Lukas and Luna were gazing intently at Phillip, their eyes sparkling brightly. It was clear they were listening with utmost seriousness.
“It seems Grandpa is far more popular than you,” Cynthia said with a hint of schadenfreude. However, this only served to darken Colton’s expression.
He certainly hadn’t forgotten the expressions on Lukas‘ and Luna’s faces every time they saw him.
He had never been fond of children, but when he saw these two little ones who bore a striking resemblance to him, he couldn’t help but be a bit more lenient with them.
“If it weren’t for all the nonsense you filled the children’s heads with from a young age-
“I’ve never spoken ill of you to the children,” Cynthia earnestly interrupted him. “Everything they know about you is what they learned from the internet.”
Colton furrowed his brows, recalling the online news about himself, Cynthia, and Elsa.
He pulled out his phone and dialed Timothy’s number. Before the other party could even react, he said, “Delete all the news about me and Elsa on the internet. I don’t want to see any more negative news about me.”
Timothy was taken aback. Mr. Zeller has always dismissed such matters with disdain in the past, so why has he suddenly started paying attention to them?
However, a good assistant wouldn’t pry into such matters. He simply agreed immediately and swiftly took care of the situation.
At that moment, Lukas noticed Cynthia standing at the doorway. He had just begun to smile when he saw Colton standing next to her. Immediately, he rushed over to Cynthia’s side, his round eyes fixed intently on Colton.
Even though he hadn’t spoken a word, his actions were more than enough to demonstrate his resistance toward Colton.
Just at that moment, Phillip also looked over, laughing mockingly. “Indeed, children are the smartest beings in the world. They know who is truly good.”
After he finished speaking, he raised his and Luna’s intertwined hands for emphasis.
The light in Colton’s eyes suddenly dimmed.
Suddenly, he bent down and hoisted Lukas high into the air.
