Chapter 8 Wanting It All
Hearing this, I stared at him in shock.
My chest heaved.
“That man’s child?”
Chris was my first man.
Sharon came back on the day of our wedding,
He returned to the villa drunk, begging me not to leave, and we spent the night together.
The next day, he woke up and remembered that we were married and that his usual villa had become our new home.
He looked at the marks on my body with disgust.
“You knew I loved Sharon, yet you threw yourself at me.”
After that, I had Aaron.
He didn’t like me, thinking I used the child to tie him down.
So, he disliked Aaron, too.
It turned out that wasn’t it.
He disliked Aaron because he suspected Aaron was someone else’s child.
Absurdly, I laughed out loud.
I asked Chris, “Then tell me, whose child is it?”
Angered, he slammed the bowl down on the table. “You know perfectly well. I don’t want to argue with you.”
Then, he received a call from Sharon and left.
I didn’t want to stay at the hospital.
Aaron had died in my arms there.
I went home and turned on my phone, only to replace that Chris had called me over ten times.
It was no wonder he could replace me.
Someone was knocking at the door in the middle of the night.
It was Chris, his face tense with worry, but he relaxed when he saw I was unharmed.
“Why are you running around? Don’t you know you’re weak right now?”
“What does it have to do with you? We’re nothing to each other anymore.”
Chris pressed his lips. I was wrong about Aaron’s issue, can we stop fighting about it?” “We lost him, but we can have our children in the future.”
Our children?
No one could ever replace my Aaron.
I looked at him coldly. “Go on, if he’s not your child, then whose is he?”
“Do I need to spell it out? Who else could it be if not Troy Smith’s?”
Troy?
What did he have to do with this?
Although Troy and I grew up together, we barely spoke after Chris moved into my house.
If it weren’t for the surgery that required a signature and no one else was available, I wouldn’t have asked Troy for help.
Why would Chris think I had an affair with him?
I asked him, “Chris, on what basis are you saying this?”
“The day after our wedding, you went to the Moon Club, right?”
My mind drifted back to that fateful morning, Chris‘ hurtful words deeply wounded me, so I went to a bar to drown my
Someone harassed me. Troy happened to be there.
He helped me and even drove me home.
Chris continued, “Sharon saw you and him enter a private room and leave together”
So, it was Sharon who said it.

That figured.
He sneered, suddenly stepped closer, grabbed my hand tightly, and pinned me against the door.
“Amber, it was right after our wedding, and you weren’t discreet? Greedy, wanting it all. And to think I believed…” Whatever he believed, I didn’t hear clearly.
Nor was I interested.
I pushed him away. “So you think Aaron isn’t your biological child?”
“Isn’t he? Which part of him looks like me?”
Children all look somewhat alike when they’re young.
I didn’t understand how he could see any difference.
I went to the room and took out Aaron’s used toothbrush and some hair that fell out during his chemotherapy.
“Take these and replace out for yourself.”
I was exhausted. I shut him out.
