Michael said as he put on his shoes. “It’s delicious, but I have unfinished work at the office.”

The only reason he agreed to come over was because Lucy said on the phone that she was upset, and he was afraid she would do something stupid.

But everything seemed to be fine with her now.

Michael hadn’t divorced Chloe yet, and Admas was right that he really should keep his distance from other women.

However, his words upset Lucy.

He was already late, so how could he possibly have anything else going on over at the office?

Although Lucy knew it was his excuse, she realized that if she kept asking about it now, she would only annoy him.

Lucy would not be like Chloe.

So, even though Lucy felt extremely reluctant, she could only suppress her irritation, smile gently and stand by the table, saying, “Official business is more important. You should go, but remember to eat something after you’re done working. otherwise, it’s bad for your health.”

Lucy being so understanding made Michael think that she was no different from before.

Michael began to wonder once again why Chloe was so hostile to

Lucy.

When Michael got back to the car, he contacted Ethan.

“Find out what happened to Lucy and Chloe back then.”

Ethan was stunned.

He thought, “The things back then refer to what happened before Charles died, right?

It isn’t exactly hard to replace the stories back then.

There was quite a fuss when Charles passed away.”

Michael watched it to realize that there was a relationship between Lucy’s mother and Charles.

Lucy was sort of Charles‘ illegitimate daughter, so Michael had been mistaken about Chloe before.

Michael didn’t know much about the Nelson family.

By the time Admas brought Chloe back, the Nelson family had fallen apart. Chloe’s mother had been institutionalized and mostly spoke without logic, but Michael never believed that.

were half–sisters was because Charles had remarried Lucy’s mother after the divorce.

But now it seemed it wasn’t.

No wonder Chloe was so angry with Lucy.

Wendy was devastated by Charles‘ death, but now it seemed that what truly devastated her was that her husband had cheated on her and had a child with another woman.

Michael suddenly understood what happened to Chloe, and he had definitely been too harsh on her before.

However, Michael always felt that the previous grudge shouldn’t have lasted as long as it did.

Wendy’s grudge against Lucy’s mother had nothing to do with Lucy, and she was innocent.

Even if Chloe was meant to hate someone, it shouldn’t be Lucy.

Michael put his phone down, pinched his forehead, and leaned back against the backrest.

He hadn’t thought there was such a grudge between Chloe and Lucy.

But now Michael knew it. He also realized how hard it had been for Chloe over the years, so he would replace a way to make it up to her and Wendy in the future.

Chapter 102 Grudge

Charles had passed away for many years, so Chloe shouldn’t have to live her life with the grudge anymore.

“Mr. Shawn, did you see the news?”

Ethan’s voice suddenly came on the cell phone, and it took Michael a moment to remember that he hadn’t hung up yet.

“Could it be that Mrs. Shawn dislikes Ms. Campbell so much because something else happened back then?”

Although Ethan didn’t know much about Chloe, what was left made him think that Chloe wasn’t the kind of person who couldn’t tell right from wrong.

Could this article be too one–sided?

Was there another hidden story back then?
