“It’s Buoghook’s centennial this year. How can you not know that as a design major?

Cathy froze, staring at Chloe, speechless.

“Ms. Shawn mentioned you wrote a book, so I was curious about your target audience. I remember you talking about your research on Hocelge’s literature. Could you share your thoughts on his sense of tragedy?”

She just said all that in Aikopnish.

But clearly, Cathy didn’t answer a single question.

People around here are sharp. They’ve seen plenty of folks who put on airs but don’t have the skills to back it up.

For a moment, they all looked at Cathy with a hint of oddness.

Victoria and Cathy, who had just been showing off, now stood frozen, eyes wide open.

Over at the Paramount Airlines office, Michael had just wrapped up his flight and was getting ready to head out after changing his clothes.

Lucy knocked on his office door.

“Hey Michael, the flight to Jakfiode went smoothly today. Let’s grab a bite together!”

The weather was bad today. After takeoff, the plane flew into heavy fog, and then it started raining in Jakfiode, reducing visibility. They hit turbulence several times, making the flight really bumpy.

Despite the challenging flight, Michael nailed it, landing the plane smoothly. Lucy was naturally impressed.

So, she wanted to celebrate the safe landing with a dinner date with Michael.

He hadn’t planned on saying no, but as he left the office, he got word that Chloe and Victoria were heading to the party together.

He frowned, his steps slowing down.

“What’s up, Michael?”

Lucy walked ahead, but after a few seconds, she noticed he was still standing there, glued to his phone.

Michael strode over to her and cut her off before she could speak. “Sorry, I’ve got a last–minute party. Can’t make dinner.”

Some members of the Shawn family have never been too friendly to Chloe.

This time, they invited her to the party out of the blue. , Something’s definitely up.

Chapter 65: Counterstrike Michael’s phone screen lit up.

Lucy glanced at her phone and saw Ethan’s message.

Wait, so Michael changed his mind just to see Chloe at the party?

Lucy felt a twinge of annoyance, but quickly got a grip on her emotions.

“I’ll go with you.”

Michael looked up, confused, his eyes searching hers.

“Hey, I remembered there will be some international engineers at the party. I want to chat with them.”

In Michael’s mind, Lucy was always a dedicated worker, so the reason made perfect sense without a single flaw.

They arrived at the party together. As they stepped out of the car, she subtly moved closer to him, creating the illusion that they were a couple for everyone watching.

Michael stepped in and immediately scanned the room for Chloe. Sure enough, he spotted her in a corner of the venue.

Michael thought she was being bullied. But as he got closer, he realized Chloe was standing her ground against a group.

And she wasn’t at a disadvantage.

Chloe’s words left them speechless.

“Ms. Shawn can criticize me all she wants, but she should really focus on teaching Cathy. A diploma isn’t everything…”

Michael listened to her accusations, feeling a whirlwind of emotions inside.

Chloe was totally standing up to the elders of the Shawn family, but he wasn’t mad at all. In fact, he didn’t even think she was being rude.

Michael thought she had been treated unfairly by the Shawn family.
