Chapter 74: The Deal
Chloe was a bit stunned.
“I saw you eyeing it at the auction,” Michael said. “So, I bought it for you.”
Chloe’s brow furrowed instantly.
He never gave her a single gift. He even calculated the money during the divorce.
Chloe thought, “Why has Michael suddenly become so generous?”
Cathy knew just how to use Lucy to push my buttons.
“Since Michael and I are getting divorced, he doesn’t need to be generous with me anymore.”
Chloe shot to her feet, fury blazing in her eyes.
“Honestly, I don’t want it. Thanks, Mr. Shawn, but please take it back.”
She grabbed her clothes and headed for the door..
She didn’t want to stay at Lotus Manor.

Michael had never noticed she had a habit of storming out when she got mad.
He only said two sentences, but she was furious and ready to
storm out.
Michael thought Chloe had crossed the line.
His voice turned icy. “You’re staying at Lotus Manor tonight. Your bags are already here.”
Mentioning the luggage just made Chloe even angrier.
Michael decided where she would stay without asking her.
Chloe thought, “Does he really think he can just control me like a puppet?”
“I refuse.”
“Grandpa and your mom already sense the tension between us. If they replace out you moved out, what if Grandpa’s condition worsens? Move back in today.”
Michael brought up Admas again.
“Chloe, don’t make me remind you again. You’ve been relying on Grandpa all this time.”
Chloe tasted bitterness.

Michael finally felt happy.
But in the next moment, Chloe kept talking.
“But I’ve got conditions.”
“First, my mom’s house goes to me in the divorce. Second, we split everything 50/50. Lastly, while we’re still married, we stay out of each other’s personal lives.”
Chloe just wanted the divorce over with, so she didn’t care about splitting the assets.

Not interfering in their personal lives was her way of compromising with him and Lucy.
She could pretend not to see their cozy moments.
Michael scoffed.
“So, it was all about the money.”
Michael thought, “She said she only wanted Apricot Manor in

“That’s mine.”
Chloe wasn’t backing down. These were rightfully hers.
