Chapter 86: That Man Isn’t Michael
Seeing her silence, Quinn spoke up, “Let’s not dwell on the sad stuff.”
Chloe snapped back to reality and flashed him a small smile.
During just one meal, Chloe felt his kindness and warmth more than once.
As they were checking out, Chloe couldn’t help but chuckle watching him struggle to communicate with the waiter, practically word by word.
After he paid, he turned around, looking at her with a puzzled expression, as if silently asking why she was smiling.
“You’re still pretty quiet, but compared to our first meeting, you’ve definitely opened up a bit.”
Quinn chuckled, a rare sight. “The first time we met, you saved my life.”
Chloe froze at those words.
She remembered the first time she saw Quinn–he was getting bullied by classmates at school,
She bailed him out and told him to hit her up if he ever needed help. They exchanged contact info.
Chapter 86: That Man Isn’t Michael
As Quinn remembered his past, his icy expression softened.
It was the first time he laid eyes on Chloe.
She wore a white dress, her long hair flowing down her back, making her look both gentle and stunning.
Owen stepped out of the upscale boutique at the mall and immediately spotted Chloe sitting in the restaurant across the
street.

He took a closer look and realized the man sitting across from her wasn’t Michael.
Owen looked like he’d just stumbled upon something huge. Without missing a beat, he whipped out his phone and started. snapping pics of the two people.
He never liked Chloe. He felt she took Lucy’s spot, making Lucy’s situation awkward. Now, Lucy’s down in the dumps every day.
He quickly found Michael’s number and sent the photo over.
“Michael, I need you to sort out the mess with Lucy. You know deep down who’s right and who’s wrong. Chloe, with her scheming ways, deserves to be punished for setting Lucy up.”
After sending the message, Owen finally put his phone away.
When he looked up again, Chloe and the stranger were gone.

Michael was sitting in the large conference room, in the middle. of a video call with their overseas partners.
He chatted fluently in a foreign language with the other person. When he heard the notification ping from the nearby phone, he ignored it.
The notification chimes kept going off, one after another, loud enough that even the person on the video call could hear them.
“Michael, better check those messages first. Don’t keep them waiting.”
Foreigners are generally more open–minded, so the other person wasn’t bothered by this at all. Instead, they patiently waited for Michael to check his phone.
Michael’s face turned a shade paler after he saw the photos. Owen had sent.
He opened Chloe’s chat and asked, “Where are you?”
The phone lay quietly on the table, not making a sound.
